    - about time Rush tickets went to 100

    - the change possibilities for the HUD are amazing, best change so far.

    - I hate the new hit markers, too big and off putting

    - Flash bangs are powerful now, I was imobilised a few times with em

Yeah I'll be playing a fair bit of Rush tomorrow alright. Really looking forward to it.

I was only on for a little bit earlier but I loved the hit makers oddly enough.

Never tried flashbangs today, I'd honestly forgot they were even in the game :pac:, might come in handy for Rush

I had a game of rush on OP Locker and it seemed improved - Still the matchmaking threw me into the meat grinder but I was still able to manage 24 kills.

Should be fine as long as you stick with DICE Rush servers.

Kids are off with nanny for the day so I spent this morning messing around with the all the HUD options and holy fuk is there a lot to chose from. Makes a huge difference being able to see enemies through all the clutter :D. I've pretty much turned everything down/off except for enemies

    Tips for the improved flashbangs

  • Registered Users Posts: 984 ✭✭✭XtraFalcon

I decided against an easy one and went with a specialised squad challenge.

This is only a rough draft of the challenge. Take your time to practise(practice?) with the classes if you'd like to get familiar with the weapons or unlock more attachments.

The kits are mostly the same and with the differences being class specific.
Let me know what you think of them.

    Player: None - Open Challenge
    Objective: TBA
Kit: Assault - Engineer - Support - Recon

    Assault
Primary: Any Assault rifle OR DMR
Attachments: A suppressor and FLIR Scope are mandatory. Under-barrel and other accessories are optional. (This can be difficult to find due to the FLIR being a battlepack attachment.)
Secondary: M1911 - Any attachments you wish
    Grenades: M84 (Flashbang)
Gadget 1: One gadget must be medic specific (Defibrillator or Medic bag)
    Gadget 2: M320 Smoke

    Engineer
    Primary: Any PDW OR DMR
Attachments: A suppressor and FLIR Scope are mandatory. Under-barrel and other accessories are optional.
Secondary: .44 Magnum - Any attachments you wish
Grenades: M84 (Flashbang) or M18 (Smoke)
Gadget 1: One gadget must be an Anti-vehicle weapon (RPG - Javelin - SRAW etc)
    Gadget 2: User Choice

    Support
    Primary: Any LMG OR DMR
Attachments Set for LMG: Muzzle break - Any close range scope . Under-barrel and other accessories are optional.
Attachments Set for DMR: A suppressor and FLIR Scope are mandatory. Under-barrel and other accessories are optional.
Secondary: 45 Compact - Any attachments you wish
    Grenades: M84 (Flashbang)
    Gadget 1: XM25 Smoke
    Gadget 2: Ammo Box

    Recon
Primary: Any Sniper Rifle OR DMR
Attachments Set for Sniper Rifle: Any Close to Medium Range scope (Sniper Rifles are NOT recommended if a user chooses this class) - Variable Zoom 14x - Any barrel and Auxiliary
Attachments Set for DMR: A suppressor and FLIR Scope are mandatory. Under-barrel and other accessories are optional.
Secondary: M412 REX - Any attachments you wish
Grenades: M84 (Flashbang) or M18 (Smoke)
    Gadget 1: T-UGS
    Gadget 2: Claymore OR C4

You can consider the challenge this week as getting familiar with these kits.

As I said these are rough drafts - They may change and they may not change.

(FLIR Scopes + Suppressors and smoke should (in theory) work very well with one another)

In any case - Let me know what you think and how we can add to the challenge.

Considering how much fun I had trolling my own teammates with flashbangs the other night(don't think you seem the funny side though Chris :D), you sure you wanna run with a FLIR around me???

Will definitely give those classes a go Chris. I haven't touched a DMR in ages but will give them a run out later with those setups.

I'll have to see what the improved flashbangs are like if they were that much fun throwing them at teammates Darren! lol

I left judgement on the Fall patch for a few days to get a decent amount of games under my belt and so far I really like the improvements/changes. Everything feels much more clinical, less clunky, and the weapons have had noticeable changes, mostly good imo. Although I have found using any PDW so far useless no matter what distance. The medic changes are a definite plus too. That timer is a brilliant idea.

I've actually enjoyed the UMP-9, preferring it over the UMP-45, it's just a ****1ng pig to unlock.

After a long sabbatical from the Battlefield series, I finally couldn't resist purchasing this today.

    PSN is stephen-s.

FLIR + canted iron sights are working well together. I smoke my position then use the FLIR to see clear as day. Canted sights for normal gameplay.

Dudes, anyone find the graphics worst since the patch and the picture darker or something?

I am finding it hard to see enemies etc

    Maybe it is just me?

Haven't been on since Thursday but it seemed fine to me. You didn't change any of the new settings did you? Might have accidentally turned down the enemy brightness or icon size etc

I was saying to Darren the other night that the Battlelog menu in game see darker and sharper but in gameplay I haven't noticed any changes except for the ones I made myself

Well from a colourblind perspective I've found it much easier to see things I normally wouldn't have seen before. Perhaps (but very unlikely) the changes you mentioned were to make it a bit easier for us colourblind folk..

On the other hand maybe I'm just getting used to what parts of the maps to avoid but I'm not complaining, it's been easier for me since the fall update so fúck it. Happy days....

    Loadout Challenge

    Player: thurlesdrunk

    Kit: All
    Primary: Spas-12
    Attachments: Any
Secondary: M1911(in tribute to your PS profile pic)
    Grenades: M84 Flashbang/ M18 Smoke
    Gadgets: EOD bot/Mortar/MAV

Objectives: Dead Stop, Open Fire, Phantom Initiate and Remote Operator Assignments, plus Shotgun Veteran dogtag.

Now besides the Dead Stop Assignment(Raise the gate on Caspian Border), I'd recommend the Dragons Teeth map for the rest of the challenges. All those maps have sections with a bit of cover so you can take advantage of the shotgun. Use Flashbangs or Smoke when moving from cover to cover. You'll have to be versatile as well since you'll be using gadgets for the Assault, Engineer, Support and Recon classes.

Open Fire: Get a kill with the pistol/40mm Grenade/Defibs in a round
    Phantom Initiate: 21 Roadkills
Remote Operator: Destroy a vehicle with EOD Bot/4 Kills with the RAWR/10 kills with the Mortar/Spot 20 enemy with the MAV
    Shotgun Veteran: 19 Shotgun Ribbons

    Good luck Paul

I bumped brightness up to 80% yesterday in the game client, I've pretty good eyesight but they changed something - I particularly noticed it on Giulin Peaks in the shadow of the mountain...

Found the advanced options yesterday, bit afraid to dick around with it that much at the moment though...

If you jump into Test Range you can tweak the advanced settings there while getting a fairly decent preview from the Sample Flags and enemy vehicles they have.

If anything I'd recommend changing the FOV and mini-map. The larger mini-map will give you the early warning and the FOV will give you the actual visual.

**Just don't do what I did and match the mini-map to 200% because it will take up a massive amount of your screen.
