I'll bring the Power Armour and try to replicate Dogmeat's Piper's Bethesda's AI.

I remember a few weeks ago I asked you how you managed to sleep so little and still manage to work a full week ... question is slowly being answered.
Rainbow Six Siege open beta emails are doing the rounds. Anyone that played the closed beta recently gets access 1 day early.

Still not sure how I feel about this game. If they've made actual changes then it'll be all well and good but if it's only the one game mode that's gonna work and with 2 minute long loading screens for a game that'll probably last 10 minutes it's gonna play on my nerves.

If they could couple a few more game modes it would be worth it like a Hostage Rescue Mission which could be a carbon copy of Terrorist Hunt but have Hostages in the rooms with explosives so you need to use tactics rather than blow up each room as you move through the building. They really need to focus on the co-op end of things.

I'm still a bit annoyed that they decided to increase the amount of C4 needed to take out a tank.....and also feeling really bad for any player that comes up against Darren in a tank now! :pac:

Some other good improvements coming though from the sounds of the holiday patch. Will definitely give Dragon Valley a run out, see what its like. I haven't even tried the night map though at all with those "campers" and their night vision totally putting me off.

Yeah the C4 nerf is completely over the top. When has anyone ever said that C4 was OP??? It's the ultimate risk-reward scenario. They reduced the range of the explosive damage as well so it's doubly hard trying to get the necessary 3 pieces of C4 on/near the tank now.

Flip side......as someone who enjoys Tanks, I love the new C4 nerf :pac:

Played the Zavod 'Graveyard Shift' a few times, didn't like it. I know you can kinda get around it in some parts of the map, but if you don't use the FLIR you're at a massive disadvantage. So much so that it's almost essential to run it. Very little to keep me coming back if I'm honest.

It's a good idea but not implemented on the right map. There's too many snipers and it's far too open. If they did it on a map that has a tighter corners and less open areas they'd be sorted, it'd be like if they made a Hainan Resort night-time map, completely pointless.

Siege of Shanghai at night should be good because most of the fighting will take place at the A - B --- D - E flags, not many will bother with C because it's only used for ticket bleed.

Looking forward to Dragon Valley though - My second favourite map from BF2 - I was hoping it was going to be in BF3 set of BF2 maps with Strike at Karkand, Gulf of Omen and Sharqi Peninsula. Can't wait to crawl along the temple wall killing the people trying to be sneaky with the C4 again.

New headset arrived this morning and the initial impressions are good. Packaging was better than expected, much better than my TurtleBeach. Build quality is high, especially given the price to be honest. The headset is very sturdy, very padded but still lightweight. The earpads are large, provide decent sound isolation and made of thick leatherette. I'm worried they could get warm after a few hours though.....luckily, they send you a spare set of velvet covers if you wanna swap them out. The headband is generously padded, the whole thing is extremely comfortable to wear, can't see any problems wearing them long term. The game sounds are impressive as well, definitely value for money. No problems hearing footsteps or vehicles creeping onto flags. Sounds different from my PX22s, but in a good way. It'll just take some getting used to. My only criticism, is the lack of adjustments available regarding sound coming in. You can see the difference in the last photo.

Final thoughts are that these seem to be a lot of headset for the money. Including delivery, they set me back just over €110 which I feel is a pretty good deal to be honest.

Nice! You can let us know how the sound quality is with those! :D
At least you're sorted now....next all we need is Alan to realise that he needs a new headset and we are golden! :pac:

Managed to play 2 rounds just after the school run and they sounded good, really good. I've gotten used to the TurtleBeach set so it was a noticeable difference as soon as I spawned in....damn MAA sounded terrifying :pac:

Regarding the price, I accidentally clicked the quicker delivery option so I paid about a tenner more than necessary, whoops.

Everything looks to be in order and you definitely got what you paid for. 7.1 Stereo Surround and a fairly sturdy looking headset.

In terms of the adjustments the PS4 Party system menu should compensate the dominate sounds changes on the software side so you don't really need more than the Sound and Chat modifier (+ a mute button) on the control panel itself. The only downside is having to actually be in a party to receive those effects but you might need to do some tweaking to try and get the perfect in-between settings for yourself.

Also I'd suggest War Tapes setting on BF4 if you've not done so already.

I honestly don't know how anyone can play without using the War Tapes sound option, the game just sounds so peaceful without it, ha.

I think patches normally drop around 2 weeks after Certification and normally on Tuesdays as well......December 22nd??

A merry gaudy festive period from DICE indeed :pac:

All the PS4s that were sold last month alone for Christmas, I dread the burden on the PSN over Christmas Week

    Also - Just saw this
My prediction seems to be falling into place nicely.

    Christmas Babies Challenge

I know it's difficult for people to get on over Christmas but hopefully the newer players will help reduce the amount of effort necessary.

This is heavily stocked in both kills (200) and team-work (Over 6,000 Squad Score)

If this challenge goes as smooth as Wednesday night - We should be done within an hour.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,282 ✭✭✭paul_booth_fan

Considering Cobra doesn't spot or even being ammo........he could struggle with this one :pac:

Yeah Wednesday was very good, stringing wins together for fun. Pretty much by ourselves as well, 6 or 7 Best Squad Ribbons in a row says it all

Holiday Patch drops tomorrow, not the 22nd. As a comparatively new comer to Battlefield, I've never played Dragon Valley so I'm looking forward to it.

Holiday Patch drops tomorrow, not the 22nd. As a comparatively new comer to Battlefield, I've never played Dragon Valley so I'm looking forward to it.

Nostalgia Gods dictate that it can't be better than the original but in saying that it was one of my favourite BF 2 maps (the other 2 being Strike at Karkand and Sharqi Peninsula) so if they do it well it could easily become my favourite map of BF4.

@Darren Since they've added back in the bridge destruction from BF2 - Make sure you or your gunner has a repair tool and never stop on the bridge + thermal view is important here due to the C4 crawlers that will be knocking about.

The 64 player version of the map seem to be the one that was used so it's much more tuned to large scale conquest.

The flags closest to the US spawn are on a huge forested area. There is a Pagoda at the top which is where the snipers will probably run off to due to it's elevation.

The Chinese airfield and the flag just north of it are also slightly above from the rest of the map on a hill.

Dragon Pass was supposed to be Dragon Valley but I think the whole vertical spires inclusion ruined that map. Dragon Valley is flatter (to a degree) and shouldn't have people taxiing choppers (no more than usual) to get to these "strategically important areas"

    (Chinese Loading theme :D)
