With all the bickering on the thread about the Irish Times' top 50 list, I thought it would be good for the forumites to have their own say, see just how different their list would be.


so here's how it goes.

- List your top 10 in order
- Multiplatform games count as one, so no need to name the specific console.
- Please don't use this thread to belittle each other's choices, there's plenty of other places to do that.
- Please only post your list once, edits can be made til voting ends
- your number 1 will score 10 points, number 2 gets 9 points, etc.

Voting will end midnight Sunday, and I'll compose a top 50 on Monday, with countbacks used to seperate tied games.

Coming up with a top 50 is hard enough never mind a top 10, you could do top 10s of different genres and still forget loads of stuff you enjoyed over the years. I put Dark Souls in even though I only played and finished it for the first time in the past month, I'm far from done with it and will have multiple playthroughs yet but it's one of the most well designed, thrilling, challenging games I've ever played.

I tried to limit selecting too many from the same series, otherwise it could have turned into a My Top 10 Mario Games List, so I picked my favourite 2D and 3D Marios, and the same with Metroid. Between and 9 are almost interchangeable and would probably be in a different order tomorrow. 10. was between Brotherhood and Mass Effect 2. It was really hard to choose my favourite Zelda game and again I could choose something different but I've always loved Wind Waker, aside from the Triforce quest, and feel the art style is timeless, despite the critics at the time. Having played the Wii U remake recently, I still love it, so to be a bit different, Wind Waker it is (for today!).
