Well seeing as my house is about 10 doors down, yes, shouldnt have but i thought it was just the oil switch acting up

    How do you calculate MPG?

I don't really care about it - more a curiousity thing (car doesn't seem to be costing me a fortune, so I'm happy with it, either way).

I tried two calculators. One gave me 10mpg, the other gave me 23.

I'm not very scientific, though. A full tank of petrol costs me approximately €80 (probably a euro or two either way, can't recall the exact number, but know it's pretty tight to €80). My little clock reads on average, 270 (it's a 2004, so miles, not KM). Last time I checked, the petrol cost was about 1.49.9 (so we'll say 1.50).

Can anyone use that info to work out a rough MPG estimate? I'm not expecting the Rav to be the kind of car that can drive for miles on "the smell of petrol" ( ) but 10 seemed somewhat low, to me, compared to numbers Im reading elsewhere.

Or it could just be that I've made a jock of calculating it and my 'rough' approximates are screwing me over. :o:p
