Except that those places are powered by the same combo of oil, gas, turf, cal and wind as the restf the country. Ardnacrusha is, I think, the only proper hydroelectric generation (as opposed to pumped storage) station in the country.

Depends how you drive it. ;)

It also depends on your tracking and alignment, isn't that right Jim? :P

On GY Eagle F1's I looked like getting about 15k I'd say.

There's a motors meet of sorts going on as I type in Drogheda at McDonald's.

Lots of loud exhausts and spoilers.

I hope no one here is involved. Seem like a shower of ****ing morons. Nearly hit one of them. Driving around a petrol station. Idiots.

I ordered up some mats for the focus on the value mats uk website. Don't know what there like but there's 8 pound discount going there at the minute so for under 12 pounds you can't really go wrong for fitted mats. Had to order a full set though can't just get front ones.

Have plans to spend Saturday cleaning it and giving it a good check over specially when I have the headlights out to put in the nightbreakers provided the an post sorting office opens on a Saturday morning I can't remember if they do or not. If they don't then I won't be able to collect the bulbs and it will be the following weekend as I have late lecturers tomorrow so won't be back to Kilkenny till 9.00 pm.

Up bright and early tomorrow to get these fitted (aligned too:p) before work with any luck.

    Ok, just a quick question

If ye had to choose, would you pick a bmw 318i or 320d from the 2002-2004 vintage? Which has the best mpg?
Seems to be way more 318s on dd anyway

Yes but "powered by Ardnacrusha" doesn't sound funny as most people will think it's a home for retired nuns!

All this talk of power station reminds me of an elective energy engineering module I done last year we all picked it because it was going to be handy. All we talked about was power stations and wind energy. But basically most power stations are pumped hydroelectric. The water is pumped to a higher reservoir at night when energy is cheaper and not in demand. The hydroelectric generation is used at peak times at 4-10 pm for example the power is sold to the grid at a higher cost and it eases strain on the grid at peak times.

The only car relates thing we learn is how to calculate car energy consumption but in kwh  actually I think the next time someone asks me what the focus is like on diesel I'll turn around and say a she's not too bad using about 40 kwh a day :D :pac:

    New tyres seem fairly good.

@ that stage where they aren't gripping 100% yet as they are new.

Place where I got them fitted couldn't get over how little I paid for them.

Still after fitting and sligent redone I have 92 quid more in my back pocket.

A rear braking light also blew. Might replace both with LEDs and get some decent led rear license plate lights and some osram dims
