    Vince Clarke - musical genius

Feargal Sharkey - moany hole and the rest of the Undertones were way better off without him!

Fingal County Council are certainly not competent to be making decisions about the most important piece of infrastructure on the island. They need to stick to badly designed cycle lanes and deciding on whether Mrs Murphy can have her kitchen extension.

I'd say they might re-schedule some programming over the weekend after the sad passing of Chris Cornell. One of my favourite singers in rock. RIP.

You know you're getting old when it's not just the early drug casualties of grunge who are dead. :(

I won't be around for TOTP, but just to report that Glen Matlock was on The One Show just now and said

"the original idea (for Anarchy in the Uk) which doesn't sound anything like it, but inspired me, believe it or not, was The Sunday Night at The London Palladium overture"

He was promoting a new Album by The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Punk Covers.

Barry Manilow. Did I hear recently that he is a homosexual man?

Proving without a doubt that bad, bad music does not discriminate.

As you get older it seems that various thing you assumed for years turn out to be wrong and one is that Barely Manenough wrote his first hit "Mandy".

    But he didn't.

Just listened to Ryan Tubridy on Radio 1 doing an Abbey Road Special Episode, which is worth listening back to (no, honestly). Among others he's talking to Howard Goodall who is doing a BBC Sergeant Pepper Documentary coming up next weekend.

Sad to hear Roger Moore passed away this week, he was always a charming guest on Television Shows, and frankly we could all do with more things like Roger Moore singing Doctor Doolittle Songs on The Muppet Show

As always, thanks so much for your weekly listings - it's got to the stage where I am keeping an eye out for it so that I know what my weekend's tv schedule will be! :D

Looks like there's a cracking line up, probably the best one in ages. Better get the beers in as there's a lot to get through...

I meant to post this earlier, but for any Mick Ronson fans, this BBC 6 Music show from last Sunday morning might be worth a listen to as there was a lot of discussion about the Sky Arts doc on it: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b08rc2j8

R.I.P. Roger. The best Bond ever. Also seemed like a decent and funny guy who didn't take himself too seriously.
