Although the Top Hat Dublin gig was filmed (I saw the camera myself, and bits of it are in the Sonic Youth DVD 1991 - The Year Punk Broke) it doesn't seem to be on YouTube. But here's (audio only) footage of Nirvana from the day before in Cork.

That oh so stoopid question - 'What's it like to be a girl in a band'
    'I don't quite understand'

And that brings us almost to the end of an epic run of four and a bit years for part 1 of BeebRock (2013-2018) !

We are close to the 10,000 post limit at which point Boards threads need to close (to protect the servers) so we need flip the tape over and press Play/Record on Part 2. Hard to believe we have kept it going for so long.

Thanks a million to everyone who posted here over the years. It was a little thread that began as a spin off from some of us posting about TOTP2 after The Saturday Night Show finished on RTE1, and as an attempt to let people know that BBC Four existed.

Here’s a very indulgent slight return to the Late Late Show posts between me, Ol' Donie and HeidiHeidi from 8 November 2013 which finally gave me the kick in the arse to begin this thread

    Whats on bbc4?

And how come there was no Beatles??

Blondie now, Guitar Heroes at 12.10

You missed an evening of Elvis Costello, but most of it is on again tomorrow.

    Guitar heroes? Ace!

Jools is on still. Good stuff.

Nearly bought Elvis Costello's greatest hits the other day. Is it good stuff? I know very little of his stuff, but what i do is pretty good.

I think he's brilliant. I think a Greatest hits CD would be a good investment - I'd be surprised if you didn't like at least half of it. Probably worth a small outlay, anyway.

Ooooh! So much for the early(ish) night!

Really must remember to check BBC4 more often - I dread to think how much brilliant stuff I've missed out on.....
    Skid X wrote: »
ah yeah, a lot of it gets repeated but it's great stuff.

I will start a BBC4/2/1 Music Programmes thread soon (unless someone else wants to do it!)
    HeidiHeidi wrote: »
    Oh PLEASE DO!!! :D
    Ol' Donie wrote: »
Ah come on Skid. You've got a talent for that sort of stuff!

Edit: but then again, it's usually the best bit of the LLS thread! :-D

    Oh, alright then :)

It's up, I will post tomorrows shows in a minute

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057079197

Special thanks also to Welsh Megaman, Ol’ Donie, Go Harvey Go and grey_so_what who posted from the beginning. It has been great fun and we will go again in Part 2.

We've covered everything from your man from Queens of The Stone Age reading the bedtime story on CBeebies to Lemmy's funeral on Youtube, and everything in between

Along the way the thread evolved and we embraced other stations. The thread title will need updating, BBC3 is long gone and Sky Arts has joined the conversation along the way. But don’t worry, the new thread will continue in the same meandering, ill defined rambling vein as before.

Thank you for watching, we will be back after the break.

    Here's the new one https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057829616

    Fair play, Skid.

It was GSW who pointed me over here. She's sorely missed here and in other places.

I've a good friend who doesn't 'do the internet' but has all the channels. If I don't ring him Thursday morning with the line up he's on the phone wondering what's wrong.

Thanks joe, that means a lot. Best wishes and hello to your friend, and hopefully we'll see gsw back soon.
