Great win for them, that'll give Womens football in England a well deserved boost.

Amy Winehouse is one of those people I really feel I shouldn't like, but Jesus when she was good, she was really good.

At least we didn't have to suffer through 'Valerie' again!

Just back from The Darkness. Like 'em or not (and if not, why not?) they know how to rock live.

Pfft. SUCH a rip off of The Beatles.

Saw them at the Leeds Festival 2003, as well as supporting Extreme a few years ago :O

Haven't they got a lady drummer now?

    Albums are overrated.

Radio friendly songs that get to the chorus quickly, that you can sing along to - that's what the people want. Not the self indulgent filler that pollutes 94% of albums which 96% of the people skip past.

    I'll see myself out.

Nope. Had for their recent tour here and their new album (she was brilliant), but she left to be replaced by Rufus Taylor, son of none other than Queen's Roger Taylor.

Ooh, I would like to see Extreme. Assuming they still have Nuno. Is ex-Van Halen lead singer Gary Cherone back with them now?

    ?

I've recently got myself one of those "record players".

I got it partially to force myself to listen to full albums (I'd be afraid to skip tracks, cos my shakey hands would scratch everything to sh*t).

Anyway, I've found that I'm enjoying the music a whole lot more. Really.

I can't say it's because they're vinyl, though. I think it might be because the speakers and that are way better than what I had before.

It was in 2008, when they were promoting 'Saudades De Rock' - the original line-up, except for drummer Paul Geary. Nuno shredded that night - and 'Decadence Dance' sounded fantastic live! :D

As far as I know, Cherone is back in Extreme - played a few dates recently in Europe.

    I dearly love Sgt Peppers.

But Abbey Road is my favourite. Was may No 1 album for years, till I finally had to accept that Appetite For Destruction, as a single album, beats even The Beatles best. And literally everything else.

    For me (Clive).

White Album for me, even if some tracks are a bit throwaway.

Well, that's a good point well made Donie, but I submit this as evidence

Like, by definition The Best of The Beatles has to be better than any of their other albums. Because they took all the best songs and put them together.
    All Killer no Filler.

    Nuno, the bollocks.

Yeah, sure I can play More Than Words...right up until about ten seconds before the end.

Love it, wish they had stayed at the top for a bit longer. You will always get a good set from them.

Ever hear The Best of Guns N Roses?

You'll find it under A for Appetite.

If albums still did rule the world, they'd be at the top again. Last of Our Kind is the best thing I've heard in a very long time.

I remember saving my pocket money to buy my first album (on tape) I was in the record shop trying to decide between Michael Jackson's Bad and Wet Wet Wet's Popped In Souled Out. I took all day and eventually went for .... The Wets :) Feck it, I still like them even if they are not 'cool' to like. Marti Pellow is still a terrific singer, I saw him a few years ago, he was brill ...

It's fair to say even in it's heydey, there were albums that wouldn't have worked for me.

    Ugh...Pink Floyd.

In all seriousness, variety is everything.

Some albums were great in how they explored the variety and depth of an artist's output, many others are just the hits with very ordinary filler.

Hey, if you dig it, that's all that matters.

First album I bought was Kylie Minogue. "Kylie", I believe, was the title.

At least I can look back on that with a certain fondness.

Not like the shame I feel for the worst album I ever bought. Limp Bizkit. Can't remember what it was called but Jesus, I'd buy ten Kylie records before even listening to that again. Never mind admitting it to people in real life.

Keep rollin rollin rollin...ah, f*ck off with your stupid cap!
