Given an iPad 2 is the oldest device that takes the IOS7 update would people recommend holding off to see how it works for others first? any chance it will slow down the iPad and ruin the overall experience? Should I just update my iPhone 5 and hold off on the iPad 2?

I'm running the GM on my ipad 2, no issues.

I wouldn't update an ipad 2. ios 5 killed my ipad 1. It's useless now as an interactive device and it sits on a dock in my kitchen for use with radio apps, RTE player etc.

iTunes not saying there's an update and on my phone it says there was an error when it tries to check for a new version. Grr!

Doesn't this happen with every major release of iOS?

It's been estimating the time for the last 5 mins. I was getting errors before that....oh wait...here we go...2 hours remaining. Right.

    Does it ?

    No update available on iTunes.

iPhone 5 took 4 or 5 attempts to get it started and is now saying 3 minutes remaining.

    Excited much? :-)

Ive been through every update since 1.0 and from what i remember the earlier pre 3gs updates were very painful.

yes, and do they learn and stagger the release time (say by releasing at 6pm in each timezone?) do they heck!

mine is on "estimating time remaining" for 5 minutes now! its like dialing in for a radio competition, retry retry retry....
