    "Will they fit", attempt #1.

As seen on picture no.2, there's no legroom left, so a lot of elbow grease must be used to squeeze them in. ;)

I'm gonna cut them a bit too. :)

    Those leathers look familiar...:D

Looking forward to seeing how this progresses, still not sure I approve...:pac:

Hi I really need to know if I'm being ripped off here I just got the brake pipes on my vw Passat b5.5 model 130bhp changed. The car failed the test because the brake pipes were pitted. I was told that all brake pipes in the rear on both sides were completely replaced today with copper pipe and that it would never have to be done again,
The cost was 250 euro including labour is this very expensive or how much would the parts themselves work out at?

sounds pricey, you'd get fancy dan braided hoses for that kind of money.
That job should only take an hour or so max.

Weather was pretty nice this morning so decided to go rooting,

The EGR valve caught my eye so pulled it out:

    OH double dear

Soaked in parts cleaner for a few hours & got the wire brush a small flathead screwdriver & a toothbrush at it

While the egr was soaking I pulled off the intercooler, there's a little cowl & fan underneath (obsolete & useless - the fan doesn't work & I reckon it restricts cooling) so I removed it:

Also, got at the top of the fuel pump, under the 4 bolts is a diaphragm that is adjusted by turning by hand, I turned it anticlockwise 180 degrees which should open the fuelling plunger earlier and deliver more juice to proceedings:

The result of the above (plus the boost pressure increase from before) has completely transformed the paj, it now goes like a scalded cat

Going to run it with the egr as it is for a while, and then i'll blank it to see which works better.

Very happy with the results, not sure what to do next!

I got my front arb's changed and no more knocking. It handles so much better now, and seems more stable on the road.

The old ones had a lot of play in them.

    Pic is massive: https://us.v-cdn.net/6034073/uploads/attachments/19655/339118.jpg

I've been meaning to go at the EGR on my Navara but have been putting it off due to laziness.

Tell me was there any sort of gasket on the joints?

Yep there's a metal gasket at each end.

Sad day for my Bora, a sad day indeed. :(

A light bulb went out, it got attacked by birds (the flying ones), I lost one of the hub caps and I accidentally hit the rear bumper with a jack as I was taking it out of the car, scratching a bit of the paint off.

On the bright side though, I got the bulb replaced. Gonna wash it tomorrow.

Upgraded to osram nightbreaker unlimited. Very white light and much better visibility.

Did the pollen filter too, which was manky.

It's just a shame that changing the bulbs on the Civics is no fun. Is yours the 1.8?

Caught out with a another puncture today, think this is the forth one in less than 2 years!

Have to slum it with a 19" Style 95 for a few days, could be worse! The 20s are beyond heavy, nearly broke my back getting it into the boot.

Yeah, I can change them without any tools or taking the battery out. It is tight but I'm handy like that

Voodoo, the car looks so small with the boot open

Whats the second black box beside the air filter?

It seems to be a resonator of some sort!

The air box looks huge although maybe thats just relative to the size of engine :pac:

I can't say I've ever seen a car engine that small still looks reasonably dry under there at least it's not covered in oil and leaking everywhere.

Must be some whopping induction noise off them with a cone filter if they've gone to the trouble of fitting that :pac:
