I'd have thought that if it actually got to court, they'd be f**ked regardless.

Yeah no jury in the country would let them off regardless of the evidence presented.

Absolutely sickened... not surprised... but these blokes are simply corrupt to the core.....

Why nobody is doing time already for this mess is astounding...

Any other country would hold these f**ks to account for their actions

Anyone up for a tarring and feathering?

Feck the technicalities of what they did. They didn't ge Al Capone on murder they got him on tax evasion. Find something on these gangsters and get them put away for a long time. They deserve to go to jail and I think it's fair to say they're a danger to society.

Proof the debt can never be repaid because money is made from debt. This isn't just what happened in this case, this is HOW our banking system works.

    Pubic central bank FTW!

Our court/legal system is there to deal with the ordinary citizen, not the people at the top. Until the weak minded Irish citizen throws up a fuss then it wont change.. Constantly electing FF/FG government certainly wont change anything, they are party's of the elite.

Tell me, are YOU going to do anything about ????? I assume not!

In this country i wouldnt be surprised. You would be amazed at what can get evidence thrown out of court.

"Just as Drummer would say, 'picked it out my arse.'"

Hopefully after all the court proceedings are finished, it wont be the only thing "Drummer" is pulling out of his arse...

I would actually be in favour of a march of some sort. I dont usually believe it makes a difference, but something really has to be done. As was shown with the Lowry tapes, our own Taoiseach is afraid to do anything about this sort of corruption.

I'm kind'a surprised that "if you print that, I'm going to the lawyers" hasn't been shouted out. It's nice for a PR guy to be caught with his pants down, not so nice that both of them went on from Anglo to be employed by the IBRC. I suppose it's one example of how insider information can be useful, watergate-style :-)

    All for it.

    This stuff is just madness.

Kenny just appears to be absolutely clueless in this situation, back to taking swipes at party politics. Its up to this man to give people a guiding light and say exactly what he wants to be done.

Not fanny around swiping at dead men and some 'banking enquiry'

Bernie Madoff will be out on parole before anything will be done about these guys.

A march wouldn't be a bad shout. But it'd have to a seriously big one with countrywide support.

What is more of an issue for me is that a certain proportion of this islands voting population may vote FF back in the next General Election. No march on Earth would sort that out!

Does anyone think that this is very worrying because it will almost certainly give them grounds to avoid prosecution on the grounds of the trial being prejudiced....

This would be true under normal circumstances DeVore , But this being Ireland they were never going to be brought to trail anyway , so if there was not going to be a trial , you cant really prejudice it.

We REALLY are a nation of zombie cretins - i have been going on about this subject from day one , and have been told to give it a rest by friends and work mates becasue in reality they just could not be arsed doing anything about it .

mind boggling stuff - another sign of our lack of ability to govern this place,
Maybe its time to give a nation like Denmark Norway or Finland a buzz and see if they would like to give it a go - becasue our lot are just beyond trusting - ever.

This all took place two weeks before the Bank Guarantee. Wasn't Seanie and that useless twat, Cowen, playing golf around that time as well? Nothing was discussed they said at the time.

IMO this is a real indictment of Brian Lenihan the buffoon minister for Finance who introduced what he described as the worlds cheapest bailout to save these FF cronies.
They were and are in my opinion criminal fraudsters, lenihan was just a corrupt and inept chancer.

Apart from my own disgust/outrage or my own suffering or the suffering of alot of people who are struggling atm, I'd like to see these guys brought into the homes of the elderly, the sick, the children & the special needs and explain to them why they now have to suffer, and see if that wipes the smile off their faces :(

they are talking about not revealing the true amount needed for anglo , they picked 7 billion "out of their arse" , their words not mine.

once the central bank were on the line for the 7 , they knew they could not back out and would have to fund the rest ,
they hoodwinked the central bank - clear as day - and our STUPID central bank and government of the day fell for it

There's a lot more to come of this according to the journalist who broke the story and has been in possession of story for "3 months" the duration owing to time verifying information etc. The tip of the iceberg hopefully.
