Does anyone know if Eurohome Insulation based in Glenrock Bus Park, Ballybane are still in business? I got some insulation done recently and have tried applied for the SEAI grant and they are not on the registered contractors list even though when we got it done they were on the list when we first got quotes...Sorry mods if I've posted this in the wrong place.

The Home Plate on Mary Street was closed up tight when I went passed a couple of weeks ago. They did mentioned they were looking at redecorating a couple of months ago. Hopefully that is the case.

Spotted from bus this morning.. "The Fisherman Seafood Bar & Grill" opening soon,next door to Claude's casino in Salthill.There was work going on in the building so could be aiming to be up & running before summer comes to Costa del Salthill.

It's further up Salthill. next door to CoCo's Cafe. I saw the sign yesterday. It's where the Rockland Hotel was all those years ago.

There's a site-certificate on the window of the building in Forster St which An Pucan was in, saying that Connacht Taverns are doing work in there.

Word around the town is that it's the people from the Connacht / Days / Ryans hotel on Dublin Rd, and they're opening it again under the An Pucan name.

Absolutely delighted when I spotted the signs for "The Fisherman" in the windows of the Salthill premises the other evening. I often used to say that particular location would be ideal for a seafood restaurant so am very excited about this. A quick google search reveals that one of the owners also owns the fish shop at the front of the Galway Shopping Centre so the restaurant shouldn't have any supply issues .

It's actually at the other end of that block, between Coco Cafe and the Waterfront Holiday Apartments. The building itself is totally glass fronted with apartments on the upper floors. I don't think the ground floor has ever been occupied. There is a serious amount of work going on there at the moment to fit out the restaurant.

If I'm not mistaken Doggie Daycare were all over Jobsbridge awhile back looking for employees they wouldn't have to pay. It's something that would put me of using a business and is why I no longer shop in Charlie Byrne's.

A brand new business and there's interns working there? Doesn't make sense at all.

Im sure owners are paying enough as it. Pay the staff. Or send all stray dogs in!

Was a friend who told me about it. The DSP were pressuring him into doing a jobsbridge and the dog day care was one they suggested.

No any business which abuses the system is equally to blame. Just because a business can take advantage of an unfair system and abuse it doesn't mean that they shouldn't be judged for it.

its a discussion for another thread, its a disgrace but the system is there to be abused and there seems to be very little noise from the public because it suits the business class. in other news hillbillies chicken is opening very soon, apparently they had staff interviews today and hope to be open in the next few days.

Friend interviewed for a job there and reckons it'll be open well before months end.

That ATM always struck me as being in bit a weird place. Prime area for skimming.

Has anyone noticed a newly installed camera or something atop that structure? I'll have another lingering gawk later

Is there any other ATM in the Galway Retail Park? There seems to be a trend for taking away accessible ATMs and replacing them with in-shop ones. I realise there is a security element to this, but it means it's harder to find one when the shops are closed.
