It's practice tbh, I nearly died of nerves doing my first presentation to 50 odd people, now I regularly do them to three times that.

I had my future MSc supervisor and a load of postdocs in front of me hahah. I was blathering and repeating myself like a gob****e...

Okay, okay you win (you were always going to)

The tbelt on the clio was a piece of piss. Simple job, even for a gob****e like me with the haynes manual.

    I usually do :p

XUD is an arse without a beefy air gun and puller, 1.1 and 1.2 16v I can do with my eyes shut (I'll try that next time it needs a belt change :pac:), the Daily requires the rad out, inch gun and a strange half nut/tool to lock the tensioner.... Easy to jump a tooth on it too! It's not too bad but time consuming and bloody expensive :o

I'm heading to Mondello (well the car park at least :pac:) tomorrow to do a few test on the Formula Student car. It's only going to involve watching someone else drive it around in circles and doing brake and acceleration tests but I'm still pretty excited :p

On the timing belt front, I'm still a big timing belt virgin :pac::o

I feel blessed. The clio you could tension the tensioner with a circlips in the middle of it. Slide the belt off. Make sure the marks are lined up again. Pop new belt on and away you go.

Set of torx was about the most complicated thing you needed.

A good two days work in doing mine on the van, seperate belt for the fuel pump, water pump and a hape of tensioners and bolts to be done aswell. Pain in the hole.

Doesn't need done for another 2.5 years but it's running off centre and rubbing on the lower cover a bit so might be a bit earlier.

Lovely first drive of the truck today into work. She's parked outside taking up two spaces. :D

Probably Definitely the most comfortable and relaxing vehicle I have ever driven. She is doing 45mph at about 1000 rpm.

Are you sure? I know you owned the car and everything but as this is boards I have to question what you looked at everyday!

It's funny I always thought yours was dark green after the meet where you showed off the LPG.
Or maybe I was mixing it up with ronin!

Saw a BMW i3 this morning. God it looks awkward. Also, the owner decided it needed no number plates it's so unique.

In Dublin? I must keep my eyes peeled.

Must be a demo model or something. No-one would be mad enough to buy one of them surely

Can't understand these ads on DoneDeal that put up loads of pictures and nothing of the interior.

Also had a deal done with a fella for a 07 S Line and he rang me last night saying the clutch had gone, straight away my suspicions were raised and he's adamant that he hasn't sold the car, although it's going to take some time to get the car sorted, if true then I'm glad it went before I bought it. Not much else out there but not sure if I'll wait around for this, he doesn't seem interested enough.

We've all seen crazy manufacturer claims... but I think this one takes the biscuit

5000 bhp and 560km/h top speed, with 0-60 in 1.8s.

    http://www.gtspirit.com/2013/11/06/5000hp-560kmh-v16-devel-sixteen-revealed-at-dubai/

There's a huge clue in the video why this is bullshít...
90 degree bends in the exhaust!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,313 ✭✭✭Mycroft H

    lol. 560km/h me bollocks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,480 ✭✭✭YbFocus

Nice spot on the restrictive exhausts :)

    Total crap!

Oh and here's my actuator operating when the car is off

Can some genius diagnose that :o

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,193 ✭✭✭Cleveland Hot Pocket

That is the oddest thing ever

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,480 ✭✭✭YbFocus

That is the oddest thing ever

Stops after like two minutes, no effects on driving whatsoever! Also the second you unlock her off it goes, start it and it stops!
I've found a few people online where they said this was happening. Some wouldn't believe it as it made no sense, some said their's were doing it from the day they got it??

I'm at a loss with this now, I'm thinking because I found the turbo to be fine when checked, was it the actuator that was causing all the trouble all along :o

dgt is the opposite, the only time there's any change in the smoke cloud is when he changes gear :D
