Here is the list of legit temporary stations:
    http://www.bai.ie/?page_id=2326

Looks like the drive in movie did not have a licence, and they were using 107.8, unless they got a licence under some other system?

The list is not kept up to date - a number of temporary services are missing from that list

    CLUB gone from 94.3.
    COUNTRY has appeared on 94.3.
NRG (88.1) audio sounding very low.
PHEVER (93.2) audio a bit loud and signal not too strong.

No BASE on 92.1 or 99.5 this morning.

Base back on 99.5 now, NRG sounding good on 88.1, 94.3 is displaying RDS of Country but the signal is weak driving along the M50 - cant get the PI Code so not sure if its a pirate or legal temp.

    Betania still on 97.3

I heard this the other day - sounded like a relay of some Russian propaganda tape or something. Very weird.

Just Googled it. They have a web site - http://www.betania.ie/. Seems to be a Romanian religious thing? They've an address in D15 - they are probably broadcasting from there as the signal was really strong out that way.

Could be a TX issue - Reggae station continues on 87.6 - stronger but audio very ropey

  • Registered Users Posts: 41 barryc2010

ya must be tx cut off so
Galaxy must be having link problems some times
the audio drops off for a few seconds
    every so often.
    Hope they get it sorted.
Audio sounds nice and punchy out of them tonight.
    Whats happening with 107.1 tonic.
They were on there the other day but very week signal
They never came back strong like before.
87.6 very poor audio must be no processor
    going ture tx

Yes, Galaxy back on 94.3. Real identity crisis thing going on at that frequency.

Good to hear Tonik back on 107.1, something wired going on with the RDS the car radio tunes to Galaxy on 94.3 when the signal is weak and vice versa. They both must have the same ID. Base 99.5 off sense yesterday.

that can happen if two of them are using the same settings on bbp
& if they have the same tx from the same manufacturer

    That is not correct.

Good to hear Tonik back on though it shows the impact a raid can have ie off for 4 months.

Phever have been off the air while Power 92 has not reappeared.

ALL 80s is now relaying All80s , previously RTE Gold had been relayed with the All 80s RDS displayed.

Very good signal on 94.3 wherever they are coming from. Was picking it up well into the mid-lands. Good considering they have coverage into Dublin too, or at least parts of it.

Still the one station on air in Cork, Klub FM on 87.8

Have to say the station is sounding good, nice imaging, production and audio

Signal is quite poor tho and fades quickly after leaving the city

I was in Waterford over Easter and was listening to 105.1 OPNTEMPO, they are a pirate in Waterford City and have good coverage of the City and local area, also clear in Tramore, they play a mix of Trance and Funky Disco music, good audio and signal.

Update on what I heard in West Dublin earlier this afternoon:

    88.1 : NRG
93.2 : Phever – seems stronger than previously
94.3 : GALAXYFM – very strong, good audio but some dropouts and gaps on air
99.5 : BASE FM – seems relatively weak, has been on and off a lot
    107.1 : Unidentified
