To be fair. I'm no fan of FK, But automation seems to be the only dance pirates of late. A real shame. I remember back only a few years ago with had Tonic/Nrg/Phever.
I know Phever is still available online. But most would have to agree pirates with live DJ'S would be welcome.
I would a agree with you on your point but I would rather automation to live if your going to have a jock linking with hello to John thats loves Sarah keep it locked keep it loud or any unprofessional sounding dj so in my opinion automation is better as a Listener and most listeners would what to here there dance tune if it would be a pulse 103 or energy 94 type station yes live jocks would be my first choice but I think them days are gone with dance pirates in my opinion all you get for the last few years is Jocks that like here themselves

Coast FM comes in very strong on 1494 kHz at the moment.
You can listen to it here if you cannot receive it directly:
    http://irelandnorthwest.proxy.kiwisdr.com:8073/

Note the strong first harmonic on 2988 kHz. The SDR must be very close to the transmitter site to pick that harmonic up.
Does anyone know something about the transmitter location?

Ah, lock up your daughters folks, here we go again.

This was himself on live streaming for nearly two hours today. Disappointed to see he still has some people here to do the work and get him back on air.

    Nothing received on 2988 (2 x 1494) or 4482 (3 x 1494)

I clearly picked it up with the SDR receiver when I wrote my post. It is not audible at the moment.
It might not be audible at the moment because we have night conditions.
Try it in daylight around midday.
I am actually not the only one who noticed it. I was told about it some days ago by somebody else who spotted it.

Yes there are two that I am aware of in the North West
    1 Donegal around Carnadonagh
    2 Sligo

  • Registered Users Posts: 606 ✭✭✭hawthorne

The SDR gives actually two different locations for its own location.
The Maidenhair locator says "IO53mw"- this would be around Swinford.
But if you go to "map" it shows "Carrowgarve North, Co. Mayo" near Crossmolina.
One of the positions is wrong.
I was told the site of the MW transmitter is in the Ballysadare/Collooney area of County Sligo.

Just to add one that I picked up on Sunday from Kiltipper.

94.3 had some liners saying that it was love songs.
    No sign of 102.5 again
Took a note of these from Stocking Lane; the pirates are in bold. Definitely a day for carrying signals at the expense of clarity but the height helped as well.

87.6 Chill FM. Weak but it is in a vulnerable position on the band
88.1 Pirate FM. A poor signal at Stocking Lane yet excellent reception at Superquinn Knocklyon

89.5 St Ita Hospital Radio. Pre programmed output all the way
    90.1 BBC2
    90.9 BBC3
    91.0 Pulse/Hot FM
    91.6 Phever
    92.0 Retro FM

    92.3 BBC3
    93.1 BBC Ulster
93.2 Pure. Over loud audio at times, approaching distortion. Possibly their audio feed is too high at playback stage.
    94.5 BBC
98.4 90s Network. Weak signal isn't helped with the weather today.
    99.0 BBC1
99.3 Energy relay. Seems to be mono with a pilot light active but there was live output today
    99.7 BBC1
    101.1 Q network
102.5 Unidentifed faint dance. Could be a harmonic given the site and conditions
105.2 Easy. Good signal and audio
107.1 Club. Better audio processing than most others

Any amendments or comments are more than welcome.

JUST got it but only just. Agreed its audible but a long way from strong considering the performance of the SDR in question it would certainly not be receivable on a normal recever

  • Registered Users Posts: 606 ✭✭✭hawthorne

The scope shows a clear continious line as well now.
I'd say the harmonic is audible on any radio in the vicinity of the TX.

  • Registered Users Posts: 606 ✭✭✭hawthorne

    LOL!
Coming up on 4486 kHz as well now! 2nd harmonic...

  • Registered Users Posts: 606 ✭✭✭hawthorne

    Nothing on 5980 KHz...yet....

  • Registered Users Posts: 606 ✭✭✭hawthorne

3rd harmonic coming up- very very very weak on 5976 kHz. News is on now- just get a faint word now and then. Clear line in the scope.
I wonder where else the harmonics are going.
That TX is leaking like an old bucket....

Disappointed is not the word fully agree with you
Its Obviously someone that thinks fk is a superstar dj and has Followers and believes his Bull pulse could of being a good Station if the person used there head tonight alone main RDS says HOT FM RDS text says www.pulse1.com like WTF audio is Diabolical not to Mention the content from 91.0 I think fk believes that he is Famous and thinks the irish dance fan know him like testo for example. Looking at some of his videos on fb saying he was racing Ferraris and Porsches back from Barcelona and they all had hot fm on you would want to have a look at it it's very funny the **** he comes out with. But we all know the truth. And truth is this go up to your site Mr Operator of 91.0 pull out the plug and walk away with your little tx and do yourself a favour.........

RDS on 91.0 was PULSE this afternoon. Hot FM imaging though

Maybe your tuner has cached the name PULSE on it? If your signal is not strong enough, it could revert to the cached name. For me it says HOT FM.

The domain name was never used, not sure why it was put there. Odd to still leave it in place.

Yes, it's performing very poorly so it's not just you. They are aware of the problem but no ETA for a fix.
