I'm sure a lot of people were saying that in 2013 too.

I'm not saying he'll win another major, but he will definitely win multiple more times on tour and I really don't understand after one weekend why so many people are writing him off completely for the rest of his career. The mind boggles.

I think we are just stunned that his performance was so shocking.

Exactly. People are very quick to forget he won 5 (big) tour events in 2013 and whilst being injured for the 2nd half of the year. No other player has won that many (apart from Tiger himself) in the last decade. Yeah his game looks horrid right now but it will come back provided he stays injury free.

Tiger was "stuck between patterns" in that 82 he shot. Must use that one the next time I have a horror round!

One of, if not the greatest player to ever lift a golf club. He's been out of action a long time and is making changes to his game at the moment. Write off Tiger at your peril! He's probably struggling with confidence as much as he is with his game at this stage. Once he starts hitting a few solid shots again you'll see the confidence return and it might be surprising how quickly he could be back to his old self. I'm predicting a showdown between Woods and Rory at the PGA Championship at the end of the year ;)

I think he'll come back too. Maybe not to the level he was once at, but I'd say he'll be back playing good golf.

Molinari just makes the ace at 16! They set it up short today hoping for a hole in one.

Injury or swing change stopping Tiger being able to chip the ball 20 yards?

Just what the crowd have been waiting for!

Great to see Laird going so well.

The snapchat story from the tournament is pretty class.
All the beers thrown onto the 16th after the hole in one is pretty epic.

Why on earth to Sky do this? It's awful to watch.

Serious blow up from laird here. Miles into the water on 18.
Looks like european tour rookie of the year Brooks Koepka is going to pick up the win.

Yep. Koepka got it. Pity Laird messed up the last couple of holes.

Anyway, it's the Farmers Insuance in Torrey Pines on Thursday. Shane Lowry starting his year. But we probably won't see much of him, given the TW is in the field.

Also the return of Dustin Johnson so that will be interesting too. Fancy Jason Day for the win.

Far play to Denis Pug, called it earlier. Awful 3 putt from Laird on 17, delighted for Koepka. If he hadn't learned his trade on the ET he'd never have won, according to SS anyway...

Would I be right in saying the Farmers is Harrington's first tournament of the year?

Turned the club around to play left handed, moments earlier he grounded the club in the hazard for a penalty as well. All added up to an 8 on his last hole.

I guess the fog delay will mean wall to wall Tiger for the opening two days. Can't say I'd be overly disappointed, missed all of last week's golf, so I'm interested to see if his game is as bad as people are claiming.

Everything he does is magnified, nearly every pro fails to break 80 at least once a year but they're allowed lick their wounds in private.

He couldn't hope for a better course to bring back good memories though, so I would begin to be a little concerned if he stinks the place out again. I for one hope he can turn it around - don't think there's anyone who doesn't want to see a Tiger-Rory duel on a Sunday of a major or any tournament for that matter.

Whilst I'm with you in hoping he can turn it around... I don't think he will for this week. He basically has the chipping yips and I'm sure his head is melting at the moment around the greens.

This was him on the practice ground yesterday. Not nice to see one of the best short games ever reduced to this...

And then Tiger goes and holes a chip from what looks like a horrid lie just off the green on 2.
