Different box altogether, if I was getting a box in that range I'd probably get the Zero, a friend of mine got 1 and it's a great little box
Handy comparison chart for all the Vu boxes can be found here http://vuplus.com/sub/sub0103.php

Agree- Zero is a great box if you aren't into twin tuners.

Has the solo se v2 not got twin tuners I think,
    That's why was comparing, it's version 2
And yes had a zero for awhile and it's a great box and tiny

But it's version 2 of the SE, not version 2 of the 2, the SE only had 1 tuner whereas the other 1 had 2, does that make sense?

Picked one of these up last week. Played around with it on the weekend. Fantastic bit of kit. Now all I need to do is learn how to use it properly!

Can anyone point me to a guide for: 1. To layout the channels in the Sky Guide order (or a way to do it on my laptop, it would take an age otherwise). 2. A reliable EPG, anyone I download onto it seems to only work for a select few channels and only when you click in.

AutoBouquets is pretty much all you need, http://www.freetv.ie/auto-bouquets.html

The box you're talking about is the latest version of the SE, which only has 1 tuner, the Solo squared is a completely different system

Does the Vu+Duo2 have an option like the Sky boxes "magic eye"
e.g. Use the RF out for the TV upstairs?

You can output directly from the box via webinterface so you can watch it on any device, I've never tried to get the RF to work on it though so I'm not sure on that

Most of the recent receivers don't have rf out anymore. Don't think the duo2 has it.
You can however use an " rf modulator " that will send the signal for u.
    These cost from €10 - 25
    Saw them on dabs ie

What about using an AV transmitter? I used one of these with the sky box and it worked great. Picked it up in Aldi for €35.

Are these boxes easy to use? Im looking to upgrade from an openbox v8s which is a bog standard satellite box. I was reading that the Vu+ solo 2 can record a channel while watching another, can install Kodi onto it and can use their app to stream the channels or whatever from the box on a mobile device.

Is the best place to buy these boxes in the Swords Satellite shop?

    Any info greatly appreciated.

I've had mine for over 2 years, I use it as a FTA and SaorView receiver but also as a media player, I connect to either my NAS or download directly to it, haven't had any problems with it and my wife can use it with no bother also.

I guess it depends on what you want to do with it, I haven't noticed any lagging or speed issues with anything I do with it, if anything I'd say it's a lot better than my Ultimo, but I don't do too much with it to push the performance to be honest.

    thanks
i would'nt overload it really either,
just a couple of the main plugins thats all,

Its plenty to be honest .
The image itself is probably around 80-90MB so the rest is for plugins and so on.
You'd never really fill that even with large plugins like Kodi direct and TSPanel .
For example on my Technomate Nano 3T with 256MB of flash ,I still have over 100MB of flash free with alot of plugins installed.

Hi sorry to hijack this thread. I'm a bit confused how these boxes work. Has anybody a link to how they work for simpletons like me? I'm looing to purchase a satellite box instead of sky. I currently have sky plus hd in 2 rooms. Is the Vu+ Solo2 the best box on the market. Also looking for ones that has all the channels.
