Well, had another scan yesterday and while all seems to be going ok with her weight now (small little legs seem to be the cause of the low weight!) - she has now flipped position and is breech!!

I just can't believe it, she has been head down for weeks now and decides to flip at 35 weeks??? We have been happily preparing for a natural birth - my husband has been reading The Birth Partner, and we are going to get a class in massage for labour, but now it looks like it might be a caesarean....

    Bit disappointed...

There's a few positions you can try to flip baby - mainly involving getting your bum above your bump - I propped my bum up with loads of pillows with my legs up the wall whilst lying on my bed! There are also some homeopathic and acupuncture methods that are quite successful. There's a website spinningbabies.com I think!

What a horrendous night, between insomnia and baby lying funny last night so I couldn't get comfy, been up and about since 3am - feeling like a zombie

    Can I join the club?
Been up at 2, at 4, and then awake properly since 5 AM. Between the baby jumping around and hiccuping (cute, but NOT at that time of morning), the f*cking cockerel out the back across the field somewhere that keeps cock-a-doodle-doo-ing at all hours, and hubby making all sorts of noises, coupled with sore hips no matter which side I'm lying on ... not happy.
Also, this 'working up to two weeks before your due date' SUCKS.

Can I join it too? Its seriously unfunny at this stage. I haven't slept in nearly a week now and its no joke.

Fortunately I finish work today. I have a hen this weekend, but next week is going to be spent in pj's sleeping :)

Join away ladies :) though its not a club I want to be in :(

I'm like you Dinkie, I have only been getting 1-2 broken nights sleep a week for the past month. Seriously unfun! I'm looking forward to baby being here so I might actually get some sleep!!! Lol

Can i add to my moan above.

I've been having BH all morning and i'm really, really hot. My back feels like its that time of the month. Haven't had anything in my stomach yet. i've been trying really, really hard not to complain during pregnancy, but at this stage I just want to cry.

Mcbubbles its awful isn't it!! Its like your in a fog continuously. Roll on September.

Thanks McBubbles and lmullen - am spending some time in strange positions alright these days, I think I'm giving my husband some strange signals ;)

He has to go away for work again from the 18th to the 3rd so I guess they'll try to turn the baby before then or we will just wait to see if it happens. I don't want to try to turn her when he's away because if she gets distressed they will just do a c-section there and then and we don't want that happening when he is away  We have clinic on Monday so I guess all will be clearer then.

It's weird to think - if they try to turn her next week and it ends up in a c-section, we'll have our baby...... Oh Lord.

And I'd like to join the September Pregnancy Insomniacs Club too please. I seem to spend my nights hauling myself from lying on one side to the other with various pillow arrangements in place. But I only save my crazy pregnancy nightmares for when my husband isn't there to wake me up on time :(

Insomnia seems to be catching! Was reading all the posts yesterday about not being able to thinking to myself well at least I'm still sleeping and then last night I had nasty heart burn couldn't get comfy and just tossed and turned till about 5am. Also seem to only be able to get comfy on my right hand side which I is not rrecommended but surely some sleep is better than none at all!
    Have a good weekend everyone!

September pregnancy insomniacs club, I like it :)

So darn uncomfortable, got a great nights sleep on Fri night but I think my body shut down coz I was so tired! Last night normal service resumed :( also feel like I am being head butted in my neither regions at the moment, have a foot stuck in my ribs as well, I'm thinking its gonna be a long night!!!!!

Oh pregnancy is such a magical experience lol

Hope you are having better luck on the sleep front ladies :)

Good luck banbhaaifric! hope it all goes well.

Went for accupuncture today. Don't think it helped move the baby, but I slept for 3 + hours after it - I didn't even wake up to go to the toilet. For that alone I'm definately going again ASAP. Am 37.5 weeks now, and ready to get the baby out. Am taking raspberry leaf tea, just started taking EPO and now the accupuncture.

Still I guess baby will come out when its ready and and nothing else. Still it won't stop me trying. Its my first day of maternity leave, so I have nothing else to be doing :D

Sorry to to hijak!, just thought I would jump in and say hi, Im 34 wks and due 20th sep, this is my first, have a step son with husband, hope everyone is doing well. Really hoping to stay sane over the next weeks so thought this place may help:D.

Feeling myself getting back to that teary moody place from the 1st trimester, think I'm just super anxious about my maternity cover handover and finishing up in work. So much to do!xxx

Welcome daisylady :) oh this is definitely a good place to come and feel sane :D (or mutually insane, more like)

Raspberry leaf tea, thanks for the reminder guys! Must get some.
Bump is massive now, I'm all bump and legs and not much else I think! (still have people telling me 'oh you're so neat', don't feel very neat but thanks anyway...). three more weeks from tomorrow (or four, if baby is lazy :p)

  • Registered Users Posts: 21 daisylady

Thanks grarf, I'm the same, everyone telling me i look neat, I'm barely 5ft,but i feel like a beachball with limbs attached:o.

I found a great physio who specialises in womens care, she completely saved my sanity with helping with sciatic pain. She's based in both Naas and Baltinglass, if anyone needs her info let me know

Congratulations all you mummy's in waiting. Girl go book that scan ASAP. Once your bf sees baby for the first time he too will be so happy. Best of luck. This is such a truly wonderful time.

Hey all! My bp is starting to act up but so far no other symptoms of preclampsia - I had it with my last pregnancy.

I'm looking for a bit of advice - I've a 14 month little girl and wondering is there anything I can to to prepare her for the arrival of her little brother or sister?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,291 ✭✭✭Dinkie

Sorry, lmullen - am a first time mum. Some of my other friends have bought presents for the older child from the baby, and there are books you can buy that describes the process?

Today I washed my hair with dog shampoo by accident. I'm that tired. Only got up to pee 3 times last night though :)

34 weeks tomorrow...I can't believe how time is flying!

Tiredness is catching up with me a little...I've taken to having a nap fpr an hour or so when I get home from work, which helps!
Just wondering for Rotunda (public) mums - when you went for your normal check ups what did they consist of? I've had 2 scans (12 week and 20 weeks) and one check up 6 weeks ago (have another tomorrow) but at the check up 6 weeks ago all they did was check my blood pressure, test urine & took blood sample. I wasn't physically examined, ie. checked to see baby position, heartbeat etc...which I thought a bit strange. I had my GP check up a few weeks ago and they did a thorough examination, and they thought it very strange when I told them about the Rotunda.

I'll be sure to say it tomorrow if they do same thing as last time!!

I do not expect too much from any of the doctors. I'm so frustrated with medical care here. Since beginning I dont evem know how much my baby weight. I went for check up twice with obsterician and ask him , if he at least tell me what is a weight, he said "no". Then as it says in the booklet should have visit every 2 weeks , he arrange appointment after my due date sept 5th. I dont know how long and soft is my cervix, how low is a baby. So now, wait and see.

Don't get frustrated. I'm public in drogheda Lourdes and I have only had my bloods taken once at my 12 week first appointment. That is the only time I was weight too thru the whole pregnancy. Seems strange since 6 years ago when I had my son it was done regularly. I had rescan at 34 weeks to check placenta and they gave me the approximate weight of the baby. Last week my consultant when examining me just said that it's a good size baby. 3 more weeks to go and if all them surprises change to girls this country will have a real shortage of men.

I'm public in Mullingar. I've had 2 scans at my normal checks and then another scan last week to check the size and location of the placenta. At my other appointment they just checked baby's heart rate and measured the size of my bump! I got an estimated weight from the bigger scan, the sonographer was saying that you need 3 different measurements done 3 times to get an accurate estimation of size! It took her nearly half an hour to get all the measurements and check placenta so I imagine it can't be done at every appointment. My bloods have been done twice and will be done again at my next appointment as my iron has gone down a bit!

Bring your concerns up with the midwife and doc at your next appointment!

Feeling super fed up today- have so much work to do in my job before I finish up for maternity, and i can't find the motivation to actually get it done, feeling very 'whatever'! same with the housework...maybe its hormonal?
