I like Durian too, but I have to agree with a description of that I read somewhere that it is "like eating the finest ice cream while seated in a pit latrine"

it is quite pungent which would explain why your not allowed to carry it on public transport but the taste is nice and the texture is unique.

I've only managed to get tinned ones here and they're not the same at all, but it might be possible with all the asian food shops these days.

Cheese curry chips. Seems like a weird mix so I haven't ventured there.

There's an Asian supermarket on Drury St in Dublin which definitely has them.

I've never had plaice, beetroot or mung beans.

Plaice is a beautiful tasty fish, I like beetroot in moderation.

I have never tried octopus, but I think i should.

I've never tried snails. I've eaten sea snails but just can't bring myself to try land molluscs.
    I've never had crocodile either.

I will never eat that stuff, even the smell turns my stomach.

I've started getting vennison steaks from Aldi and they're gorgeous.

And Odessa in Dublin charges something outrageous like 12e too.
But I have to say, it comes with a good portion of salad and home fries- a lot of places serve eggs benedict simple.
The ham is really good as is the hollandaise and they don't skimp on it like a lot of places! Well worth it, imo.

    Haggis
    Rabbit/Hare
    Goose/Pelican/Crane/Flamingo
    Horse/Donkey/Pony
Goat & most creatures you see in Dublin zoo

    Snails
Spiders (unless I was sleeping - yum)
Crickets & pretty much all bugs.

cheese with fruit impregnated in it (it's so wrong)
most really strange fruits (avacado for example has the consistency of a slug; another thing i've not eaten).

    Humans/Aliens
    The Lochness Monster
    Dinosaur
    Your missus (maybe)

That's all I can think of.

Yesterday I discovered truffle flavoured crisps. Finally, cheese and onion has been toppled from its lofty perch. Jesus these things are good, and only 99c for a big bag.

I think I've tried pretty much anything that would be eaten anywhere in Europe, and some things that would be more African, Asian or Australian.
I've had most meats, most fish, shellfish, molluscs, but not to my knowledge insects.
I would also have had most vegetables and edible funghi, including a lot of things that don't seem available much in Ireland, such as salsify, red chicoree, courgette flowers, spaghetti squash, etc.
Same goes for dairy products and eggs (duck eggs, Norwegian sweet cheese, the lot)

I'm vegetarian now, so I'm not likely to try any of the meat and fish I haven't had until now, but I'm always open to new veg and mushrooms. New cheeses, too. :)

Edit : Anybody on here ever tried natto?
