I'm pretty sure you will be given one of those wristbands that you can't (easily) take off without breaking them, think Oxegen / EP.

Forbidden Fruit didn't do a wristband system as far as I know, so who knows?

Although I wasnt at Forbidden Fruit last year, I went the year before and it was a wristband for the 2-day ticket holders

I almost forgot about that. FF didn't do wristbands last year and told everybody to hold onto their tickets. I didn't hear any stories of people losing their tickets but I went for the Saturday and Sunday and kept checking my pocket on the Saturday to make sure I didn't lose my ticket.

will defo be wristbanded, and non transferable. and i think it will be stricter than most with the checking given the amount of chancers in this country.

Got Saturday early birds. I'm going to be gutted if they do pack Saturday with the smaller bands.

    Django Django would be nice...

Latitude initial lineup, might be a few of these announced for Longitude. may be handy for figuring out days too.

Would love to see some more of that latitude in the longitude line up. In particular Alt J and Bloc Party. Probably already would have been announced though.

    Bloc Party and Maccabees please.

Did Longitude give any idea when the next acts are being announced?

Don't expect anything as big as Bloc Party or Maccabees anyway :p I hope Bloc Party make it over for something this Summer though.

With the headliners already announced it would be unlikely that Bloc Party would slot in beneath any of them.

Maccabees could be a good shout and i'd love to see them again.

I'd seriously freak if any number of Maccabees, Alt-J, Japandroids, Beach House, Purity Ring, Daughter, Tallest Man On Earth and Rhye were also announced for Longitude.

I wouldn't bet on Bloc Party due to headliner reasons already given, but the others are fair shouts, I pray! :pac:

Any indication about how "It's more than just a music festival"?
Will there be comedy, spoken word, movie tent etc?

See ghostdancer's post on the previous page.

I was more asking about rumours rather than when the next announcement would be. Cheers for the reference though.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,494 ✭✭✭Fuzzy_Dunlop

Well I suppose if it's like latitude then there would be comedy acts and such too.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,345 ✭✭✭Hoop66

I could caper about drunkenly for your amusement, I suppose?

Just to point out, there is no official partnership between the two festivals at all. (apart from being run by FR and this by MCD)

There will be "arts/comedy" things at Longitude, but thats still to be announced.

There must be some, if the posters are the exact same.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,132 ✭✭✭Just Like Heaven

He means different people are running the festivals, MCD are just using the brand name really. Some bands like Foals and Kraftwerk and stuff have probably signed a single contract, but really MCD have probably gone for this so they can use an already established festival name and FR get to save a little money by booking bands for the weekend and letting out their brand. That's about as far as FR's influence probably goes on this festival.

Villagers are on Latitude on the Friday, so that would be a clash. That is if I'm reading the Latitude lineup right (if first column is Friday)

Speaking of FR, would love Frightened Rabbit to play at this. I've missed them every time they've been here except when they supported Death Cab a few years ago.

Here's the full poster from the UK Longitude - same name and weekend, there has to be some sort of link. Who would you like added to the Irish event from that lineup?
