Check Parcel Motel now and you'll see that it has arrived and possibly by now left for the trek to your locker.

If you're in or around Dublin, tonight by ~10pm. Everywhere else, early tomorrow morning.
    You're right, status on PM: CheckedIn 2 Aug 2013 13:31 :)
Thanks a lot, you've been extremely helpful.

Good on ya. You won't regret it! I'm anti-Apple so you might find my opinion to be biased but at the same time, I won't use something that's slop...or at least I won't pay for it. :)

It's too early for the info to be live. Check back tomorrow, or maybe because it's the (long) weekend, it won't come live until Tuesday. Don't worry, though. It's normal for the information to be delayed at first, as with any tracking service. The estimates I gave you before should be on the money.

I was an old Nokia fan so gave the lumia a go over a year ago but it's just not happening on windows, apps haven't really come along.

Microsoft are failing at pretty much everything nowadays. They aren't meeting their own expectations even. The Xbox One looks like it could be in for the same fate, but at least they have more of a chance now than they did with things the way they were with it at E3 and before. I don't think Microsoft has been quite the same since Bill Gates took a step down. It's a pity. They are trying to do what Apple do. Anticipate people's needs before they have them. It works for Apple (sadly) but it isn't working for Microsoft. It could be down to Apple being "trendy" and "fashionable," whereas Microsoft was never held in the same esteem. It's probably time to take a step back and rediscover what made them the biggest software company for all these decades before they lose it all.

Mine must have been on the same van :-)
Just picked up from Parcel Motel.

Whole order process went without a hitch.

Huge thanks to DECEIFER for compiling the instructions.

It could turn up yet before the night's out. Dublin has a decent few motels to cover.

Now, based on my welcoming gift parcel, next step would be 'Stored in motel' and last one 'Delivered to customer'. Problem is - that time it took 2 full days to go to that last stage, but I hope that's for gifts only. What would be time span on yours?
Anyway, it wouldn't suit me to have it tonite, had busy evening. And I know myself, wouldn't be able to put it down whole night :) Let's hope to see it tomorrow.

    Didn't get the welcoming gift.

Tonight's delivery went from 'in transit to motel' to 'Stored in motel'.
Got e-mail then and looking at PM now, it says 'Delivered to customer'.
Time gap was 2:30 from transit to stored, 0:15 from stored to delivered.

You probably live closer to the main storage. Thanks.

EDIT: got email at 11:55, ready for collection :) Will pickup in the morning. Thanks everyone for support.

I got an email last week about a gift from parcel motel for signing up, but nothing since. Seems a bit off. If that's how they look after my regular deliveries I won't be overly impressed.

Does anybody know what's going on with flubit? It's been offline since last week, can't do any requests. Last week they said they'd be offline til Sunday, now it says Wednesday....

Are they still operating? No server or site upgrades would leave them offline for a week surely??

According to facebook they've been up and down over the last few days making some changes, who knows what they're changing in the back could easily cause problems that could go on for a while.

Bad news guys, I just got this mail for Flubit:

From tomorrow, Wednesday 7th August, instead of being able to demand using any UK website, we're going to be asking you to do so only using products listed on Amazon.co.uk.

As it happens, the majority of our users already use Amazon for their Demands, so for most this will mean no change. By concentrating our efforts on beating the market leader, we'll be able to respond to most demands in just a few hours, much better right?

You can find out more here and if you have any questions please do get in touch via talktous@flubit.com.

Well that's inconvienient, though at it's cheapest there isn't that much difference http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B00APXX7D4/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new&qid=1375798830&sr=8-1

This isn't good at all. I got the same email and I'm still shocked by it.

Think of the hassle if something goes wrong, though. You'd have to go through Flubit, who'd then have to go through the seller, who'd then have to go through Google. Or am I wrong and it'd still be direct support from Google (albeit through Flubit)?

Same here, load of balls to be fair, I can't see how limiting their offers to amazon only is going to help them, fair enough if they want to offer quicker times for anyone who uses amazon but they should still be well capable of providing offers for other sites in 24 - 48 hours.

I find anything I'm buying on Amazon is usually at a good enough price that it's not worth waiting for an offer from Flubit to save a couple of quid anyway and will buy it direct from Amazon.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,243 ✭✭✭DECEiFER

I've PM'd them on Facebook. They normally respond quickly enough. The message I sent is below.
Please tell me it ain't so... No more Nexus orders through Flubit from the Emerald Isle . At least not directly through Google. I don't know how it's a good move because if I'm looking at a product, say something different to a Nexus, and I see a price on Ebuyer and the one on Amazon is more expensive, which is going to happen in this and many other examples, then your cut-down price from Amazon may not beat it. So then you lose a sale because you're relying on Amazon to be the best value marketplace, value that you can further improve on. It's a pity...

Back to the Nexus side of things. If orders were to go through Amazon instead of Google, in spite of the now minor price difference (it wasn't such a minor difference when I was ordering mine in March/April), what happens in terms of returning the item to Google due to a fault? Does the support work in the same way, where you'd deal with Google or would you need to deal with the seller who in turn would have to deal with Google? If so, I have a feeling that the process would be convoluted enough to get very messy and increase waiting times and decrease satisfaction.

Anything you can do to explain the process so I can make a post about it on Boards.ie would be great.

It really is a pity. At least now 9 months or so on, the prices on Amazon are quite competitive. I doubt it will help with future devices (even the imminent UK launch of the Nexus 7 2) as they'll probably come with a bit of inflation at first. If not the Nexus 7 2, then maybe the Nexus 4 2 / 5 might be affected just like the Nexus 4 was.

Nolimits' link has a good listing for £281.00 + £8.98 UK delivery, which works out about the same as with Google. Well, it's a pound more...

Based on absolutely nothing I'm still confident we'll be getting devices soon.

I've noticed these things always go live on a Wednesday so I'll be keeping an eye out tomorrow

Actually I'm thinking that too considering we've got Apps, Music and Books now. Not forgetting that its possible that we'll get the remaining two categories in the coming months :pac:
