Anyone listen to or believe that billmcmurdo character??
    Green’s Return Imminent?

Posted on August 1, 2013 by billmcmurdo

Charles Green is locked in talks with the Rangers board concerning his return to the club.

Green is concerned about spiralling costs at the club, including board costs of £1.2 million, back room staff of £3 million and player salaries of £7 million. Other investors share his concerns and are backing his return to the Ibrox boardroom.

My understanding is that Malcolm Murray, Scott Murdoch and Douglas Park are working furiously in the background to try and prevent Green’s return by attempting to acquire 29.9% of the club for 35p per share. Given that Green’s consortium still own 51% and are determined not to sell for less than £1.00, it doesn’t look likely that Murray et al will succeed.

One institution – Hargreave Hale it is believed – may sell for not less than 50p but it is highly improbable that the Murray/Murdoch/Park team will stretch to that.

It is generally regarded that the new Blue Knights for want of a better name are just bluffers hoping to get the club on the cheap.

I am told that one or two board members are trying to block Green’s return to the club but I expect that it will happen regardless.

    More to follow when available…

So these players that you've mentioned have been signed on pre-contract agreements, but are at the club training and playing competitive games as well as pre season games as trialists, while they await their contract to start? They are being paid a wage I presume before their contract begins? Sounds like Rangers have found a way to circumvent the transfer embargo ruling. The spirit of the ruling is not being adhered to by the looks of it.

Are you for real, the spirit of the ruling? Any club in there right mind would take advantage of this. Do you think Celtic or any other club would think 'Hey, lads, lets not try and do the best for our club and comply with the spirit of the ruling'? Not a hope its dog eat dog and you look after no. 1

    Green back in at Rangers?!?!?
Former Rangers chief executive Charles Green has been appointed as a consultant to the club.

The man whose consortium bought Rangers’ assets in a £5.5m deal last summer stood down from his role earlier this year.

In a statement to the London Stock Exchange on Friday, Rangers confirmed the return of Mr Green to a role with the club.

It read: "The board of Rangers is pleased to announce that it has today appointed Charles Green as a consultant to the company.

"Mr Green's role will be to promote the interests of Rangers Football Club, specifically assisting with shareholder relations and advising the company on its capital structure."

That can't be good news for Rangers fans surely?

It really depends on what faction you believe. My personal feelings are if he keeps his mouth shut it could be ok but if he starts to mouth off again then there could be trouble. You have to remember he was never away from Rangers just because he wasn't the CEO didn't mean he couldn't influence just about everything.

He may be but he is still a major shareholder. He has made an idiot of himself and the club on more than one occasion he has also stood up for us on many different things. I don't reckon he will be speaking on behalf of the club now. If that is the case fine he has the right to be there

it would be interesting to know actually, I cant think of any other brothers playing against each other for celtic/rangers. I'd imagine there was a lot to discuss in that household on a match day haha.

Have to admit I'm excited to hear Charlie Green making an idiot of himself to the media again

    http://news.stv.tv/west-central/234870-shareholder-group-moves-to-oust-rangers-chief-executive-craig-mather/
Hours after the appointment of former chief executive Charles Green as a paid consultant, a further statement to the London Stock Exchange revealed that a group of shareholders had launched an official bid to join the board. They also called for the removal of chief executive Craig Mather.

Easy to see that he's making more waves though.

This sort of power grabbing will continue as the club progresses into the championship and premiership because its means more money to pocket etc. Hard to know who has the fans best interests in mind with all the backstabbing going on in private.

at least there is an arrest warrant out for romanov over debts, a few people in scotland and ireland could do with that treatment

Fair play to Ally today for speaking a bit of honesty on Green. Most managers toe the line or restrain nice to see him put his opinion and honesty on the line.

Green is muppet makes a joke of your club

What you say is all fair and well but Ally is fast running of excuses. That was a disgrace today

Yeah I didn't mean to quote him!

Maybe so but Green coming out with that is a disgrace. There is no reason to be placing that demand on the squad nationally

Coming out with what exactly? What did Green say about demand on the squad? McCoist has firmly nailed his colours to the mast probably knows he'll be sacked if Green takes over anyway so he may as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb. They'll have to find someone to pay Green off now I suppose?

Dont think I ever condoned magpie businessmen taking advantage of scottish football fans, even Rangers or Sevco ones

I think McCoist should continue to speak his mind regardless of his job security, hard questions need to be asked of yer board regardless of who's asking.

Walter Smith resigns from his roles as chairman of Rangers and as a director at Ibrox

Lets see Charles Green 'consult' his way out of this one!

The proverbial is about to hit the fan. Popcorn time.

Why aren't The The Rangers fans out in numbers in protest, maybe they don't know what side to be on anymore.

What are we supposed to protest about WS has stood down at this moment in time no p e knows the full reason
Rumours are flying about all over the place I don't think a knee jerk protest is the answer. If it is what most think it is we can't do anything and may not want to depending on the outcome.
It's no real surprise that it has come to this so I reckon the next few days will be interesting to say the least
