The blank channel thing is sorted now, thanks.
Can't find that front panel fix plugin anywhere though on this hdmu image.

Forgot to ask as well, can you program remote to alter volume and source input etc on my tv like on the vu+ duo remote?

Also, when I pause live tv the program does pause but the screen is blank.

Have you tried turning everything off, (box, router, modem) for 30 secs to allow reset (as in , your router/modem always benefits from a 30 sec reset)? May help.

Anyone know of a way to speed up channel changes? I don't really mind it but my friend asked could I do anything about it. He is running Freshpots Hyperion V4. It is a bit slower than spark to switch channels but thats probably because of plugins running etc?

I'd never buy a new receiver straight off the bat ,its asking for trouble, especially a completely new platform like Spark 2.
Spark 2 is still in beta ,it took well over a year for Enigma 2 to become stable and Spark was never fully developed.

I have no interest in a single tuner receiver to be honest and if the expected rrp of ~180 euro is to be believed then it is overpriced

No, it's a move to a different Linux. It runs Android and is a complete move away from Enigma on new Arm hardware (Android support on Arm is very good). It's a good move, but will take time to develop and opens a whole new world of Android apps and games

Need to send signal to another TV old skool via RF mod.

I asked that a few weeks back and I think the general consensus was to use something like raspberry pi ( mini pc ) to stream from the amiko as there is no rf out
or use an old laptop with hdmi out
I thought i would go one better and bought a cubieboard with android & a dual core processor and more ram but its stuttering playing HD channels SD work fine
I think the pi has a better gpu
will have a fiddle with the router later see if I can sort it out as I had to assign an IP add outside the dhcp for remote access
I now have to put in a port number to even browse to it on my own lan
and I think maybe this is slowing it down.
So I will put it back in the dhcp pool to test
As streaming using an android tab was jittery on HD I thought it was because it was over wifi but the cubieboard is hardwired to the lan

It makes no difference what ip the device has. Ip address (layer 3) is only for configuration, not used as traffic between the devices will be packet switched inside your lan at layer 2 (mac address).

Ip is used to connect to the internet (other networks). Switches (layer 2) extend networks, routers (layer 3) connect networks.

When the Ip was dynamic I could browse straight to the webif without having to specify a port
Now at at the moment I have to put 192.168.xxx.xxx:89 to see the webif page
Is this likely to slow down the traffic to & from the AA2
Or is it more likely the cubieboard just is not up to it
Being typical fella size matters and all that cubie has bigger processor more & ram sure doesen't that mean it will have to work better & faster :-) :-)

I suppose I could setup the cubie directly with a patch lead to the AA2 and try it without the VF router see what the picture is like
But I did not really expect there to be issues when on the lan as I did not think HD would be that demanding

Thanks for the reply same ol

On a side note just got my RII tek mini keyboard will have to have a play with that too :-)

Not sure that anyone has satisfactory streamed HD, however, having said that, I do recall someone on here claiming that they did to an iPad, some months back. I remember been a little sceptical. they mentioned that they were using a paid app , which worked well.
Maybe a search for for some keywords might bring it up.

I was using VU player which works great for the SD there was some stuttering an such on the android tablet streaming HD but I thought it was just the wifi
HD works fine streaming onthe laptop which is an old dell D820

The default web port is 80 if you do not specify one, it makes no difference what port you use if you only connect from inside your lan as you will be connecting the individual device ip. To connect from outside you are best to set a port other than 80 (as it could be used by other things on your network) and add a port forward rule to allow you connect, I'm using 87 as I have many things port forwarded to different devices.

Sorry, I did mean HD streaming to a device not been successfully done. VU or dreamdroid do good jobs for sd .
The only reason I remember someone talking about the paid app was that I was sceptical about the HD stream claims ( but curious) .

I am running TTGs Hv4 image.
For around the last month when I boot the box up (after it goes into auto-standby at 02:00AM the night before) my entire EPG is missing. No channels exist so the box is pretty much useless unless I want to use the media player or some of the apps.
This doesn't happen every day, but maybe 2 to 3 times a week.

The only fix I have is to boot up my laptop and use DreamBbox Explorer to copy over my EPG again.

Has anyone seen this happen and if so is there any fix?

Hi all, I have an AA2 running on spark, last week the Oscam stopped clearing. I have reinstalled everything, gone back to factory reset and still no luck. The Oscam works perfectly on a different AA2.
    Anybody have any thoughts?
Stabs in the dark welcome, thanks in advance

I'm taking the box back to the shop where purchased tomorrow to check for faults, now can I say to them that my Oscam isn't clearing?????

I use blackbox pro for the Ipad air and it works absolutely brilliantly, it doesn't work well at all with the ipad 2, however this could well be down to the dodgy wireless in the ipad 2.

    The blackboxpro app is fantastic.

I got the Amiko 2 for my mother who wants rid of sky and wants to record, it's working fine for her and she can manage it.

The reason we got the Amiko Alien 2 and not a cheaper box is because when everyone is in my mothers we can stream another channel to Ipad/Android. And the triple tuner.

It is a pain having no rf or scart, streaming from Android with android dream works fine on sd but a bit dodgy on HD now this could be due to the crap generic vodafone router, it's wireless N but this means nothing in reality if the router is crap.

Most problems with streaming are router related, poor signal and quality router.

Best to review routers before you buy. Anything with 8-10 mb/s should work fine, but some routers can't manange that more than 10-15 feet away.

My belking wireless N seems to work great.

The app for the Ipad could be making it smoother somehow either.

You can these days get devices to convert HDMI to coax that uses DVB-T technology. Brilliant idea but all adds to the cost.

Streaming on the Pi is a good idea but too complicated for my Mother. The wireless doesn't reach the bedroom either. So would have to use a powerline adapter, more expense. Then streaming is fine but if she can't see the menu etc ?

I have the pi and it plays 1080P perfectly with xbmc but it can be laggy.

A simple android tv box with either dreamdroid or vu app installed and on a single window on the Android box. Then all she needs to do id turn on the tv and Android box and learn how to work through the app.
