I never got the 'Ireland is a safer place for women without abortion' line of thought. If we allow abortion will people start attacking women in the streets or something?

Nope, but they will start talking to them in lifts.

It's essentially like saying "Ireland has the lowest motorbike-related mortality rate in the world" if motorbikes were illegal and unavailable in Ireland.

Hmmm, that's comparing like with like. More like saying Ireland has the lowest rate of fatal motorbike crashes because pogo-sticks are illegal in Ireland?

Still can't believe that in this day and age, we live in a country where women have to travel to the UK in order to use a pogo-stick...

    - My homepage currently has an ad on it from them that says, "Like if you think everyone has a right to life" with a like button underneath. I can only hope certain people 'liked' it without really knowing what it was.

Do you not have to "like" the page to post on it or something?

Nope. Done it a few times.

No most old pages tried to trick you into that when you first click the link to their old wall. To get around it you'd simply look up into the top left corner and click 'View X's wall'. Now with 'Timeline' they can't trick you as easily. They encourage you to like the page in their ad but you can view their timeline by clicking on their page's name or typing it in the search bar anyway. Regardless of 'Timeline' or not if their settings were public then you could post away. I do this all the time, without 'liking' stuff. (I'm such a rebel!)

All the act of 'liking' does is gives them a 'like'. And adds their own wall posts/links/status updates to your own newsfeed.

I clearly have nothing better to be doing with my time than understanding the mechanics of how facebook works.

What sort of strange wizardry or contraptions did you use to concoct that trick? :)

A new one, they seem to have had an official wreath at the Bean Uí Chribín funeral for anyone who doesn't remember who she is.
RTE broadcast a documentary on her the other day. Apparently she was an old dear after all:

I have yet to post feedback in the feedback thread, you might consider this an incentive to tell me.

Oooooooh-kay. The post contains the miniscript which implements it. Just click on 'quote' and you'll see how it's done; it's not all that difficult.

Bwahahaaa, my son told me how you did that :p I can't be bothered showing you I know though.

I love when certain YD posters try and claim their nonsensical statements and appalling spelling are intentional, course they are love.

I just seen three of my friends like it. Two of them I know are pro-choice and the other is gay? Obviously dont know what it is.

Four of mine like that page. Two are novena-attending Catholics who post frequently about the abortion "holocaust"/holy Mary mother of abortion victims and thus are blocked from my feed, one is member of the Socialist party keeping an eye on them, and the last one is also a gay man. I assume he's liked the page because he hasn't a clue what they're really about.

I kind of want to tell him but I also think it'll be hilarious when he realises himself. :pac:

Over on Geoff's Shorts, Geoff looked into what groups are followed by YD's Twitter followers.

I'm only posting those above 30% here as it's a rather long list.

    Makes you think.

    StevenErtelt 46.48%
    LilaGraceRose 45.22%
    LiveActionFilms 42.69%
    LifeSite 41.85%
    frfrankpavone 40.06%
AbbyJohnson 39.12% (Those sensitive to overuse of punctuation and caps should exercise caution.)
    HumanLifeIntnl 36.59%
    ProLifeBlogs 34.07%
    JillStanek 33.96%
    Students4LifeHQ 33.75%
    prolifecampaign 33.33%
    nrlc 33.02%
    AmerLifeLeague 32.39%
    alvedaking 31.86%
    spucprolife 30.81%
    40daysforlife 30.70%
    SBAList 30.49%

I've run out of the will to live after going onto that many pro-life sites so you can find the links to the rest yourselves. It's enough to say that there are a suspicious number of people that have an abundant interest in the likes of Sarah Palin, Paul Ryan, Rick Santorum, Tim Tebow, obscure American priests, pastors and holy men that it's a wonder YD even base themselves in Ireland.

Been wondering that myself for a looooong time. Fair play for tortuous research in the name of truth. Nice one

Oh I've already got a 'debate' going with them Jernal. I'm begin calm, courteous and taking screenshots for lols and defence when they ban me...... first reply I got back was a link to a pro-life website about how this abortionist doctor fed fetuses to dogs. Turns out the story was true, but I pointed out that a) wasn't tackling the issue and b) if that's how she thinks arguments are won, I linked an article about how a born-again killed a doctor in the US thinking he was ''saving children'' and pointed out the pure hypocrisy of it.

And now we play the waiting game.

You cannot incorrectly spell 'you're' and 'thought', and then have 'Nazis' in the same sentence. That's just emitting a beacon for the Grammar Nazi's to appear.
