His technical ability and how the whole thing is put together is really impressive - but what a complete and utter waste of time! And a waste of good consoles.:(

Why go through all that and use a ps1 D pad on the master controller?
Why go through all that and play the games in 16:9 on a horrible big LCD?
    Pig ugly looking thing too.

He spent 3000 hours on it but the labels don't look like they are aligned right or even on straight. Technically impressive but bit of a waste of time.

It's amazing how quickly you can forget about stuff. I was looking through a wardrobe to see if there was anything else I could sell on, and found all of this!

I knew I had a NGP but had forgotten there were quite a few CIB games in there.

Those ngp boxes are really lovely...! They're also starting to rise in price a bit compared to per say this time last year.

That awkward moment when you spot a Dreamcast controller on the cover of 'Front' magazine, long, long before you cop the fact it's being held by 3 young-ones in the nip.

    I'm guessing it wasn't a gaming magazine.

It says more of the psychology of the viewer when presented with three gurls in the altogether and you focus on the make of controller they are gripping.....

Its impressive for someone with absolutely no engineering background or skills to put together - technical ability is not demonstrated.

But fundamentally fails in its initial premise to play games as originally indented and avoid emulators. A huge part of the original experience is the physical interaction between you and the machine, i.e the controller, the look of the console, even wiggling/blowing the poxy cartridges.

I won't slate him for the LCD screen as not everyone has the space for CRT's anymore.

Re: The Project Unity frankenstein thing.

I admire his dedication to complete the project at least, I didn't have the dedication to finish the video, bloody monotonous voice on him. Looks like it would be a pain in the ass when something goes wrong inside it. That or it will burn his gaff down.

A small CRT takes up feck all space in fairness, unless you're living in a one room bedsit or you have the equivalent of a Sauron telling you you're not allowed get one.

Picked up a spare Original Xbox earlier today.

Just wondering what people would be willing to pay or how they'd feel that an Original Xbox with CoinOps4 Full installed would be worth to sell on?

    Thanks all.

It'd be exactly like the one that I recently had at o1s1n's beers.

No idea what its worth tbh.
Because the Coinops stuff is free the things you'd be charging for would be the price of an Xbox and your time in setting it up.
    Looks cool though.
Is the emu better than Mame for running stuff?
I found it got tripped up by the memory requirements of some games and just stalled or quit.

You should check out the new Visionary front-end for the original xbox. Very hyperspinny looking and dead easy to setup and very customisable.

I wandered in at the weekend. Couldnt afford anything though. He's not got a lot of stuff but what he has seems to be priced well and is good quality.

    Well.... that's interesting.
My ad for the MVS Board and the 111 in 1 MVS cart was removed as it was a breach of rules.
So, while they lack the will to crack down on misleading ads, like Retr0's 3DO and the Amiga reported recently, they can jump in on mine and flex their muscles....
Also, they seem to plead ignorance on the young one in Castleknock selling a mix of unboxed and pirated PS2 games, despite my reporting same to them on a number of occasions!
So a big +1 to Adverts for consistency!

Yeah the Adverts consistency thing...don't even try & figure it out. Don't forget though that you have the Social Group thing too for sales, which you control ;)

I see it more of a Pat Garret thing, we definitely need a William Bonney around those parts :D

I've seen similar carts sell there at least twice in the past, in fact there's a 120 in 1 up with a mobo as we speak?!?!
