Is there any use for Parcel Motel outside of UK sites? From what I gather, you use the Parcel Motel UK postal address up north so you can use UK postage price and save money...Or am I missing something?

The main advantage of it, according to their own blurb, is not having to wait in at home for couriers etc to deliver stuff. The UK address thing is meant to be an added bonus, for getting stuff that normally only ships to UK addresses, or is free/cheaper compared to using an Irish address.

Problem is that most sites now are happy to arrange shipping to alternate addresses (your work, your ma, etc). It's a handy option for the UK only deliveries alright, but how difficult is it to find somewhere to get a delivery sent to?

I'd never really bother using it just for an alternative delivery address. It's really handy as it seems faster and it's only around the corner, but it would be an additional 3.50 just for the privilege. Which isn't really worth it.

The 'UK only' this is a big draw, but the actual postage cost saving you get by using UK postage is brilliant.

Say for example you want to have a CPS2 board shipped to Ireland. They're heavy and you're talking at least 25 euro postage. If you go with Parcel Motel, paying the UK price is probably around a tenner. Plus an additional 3.50 for Parcel Motel, still saves you 11.50. (and you get all the above mentioned bonuses too)

Would something as big as a CPS2 board still cost the normal parcel motel price? Also, where do you stand if the item is damaged in transit? Also also, do they cover the cost of the item if it somehow got lost in post?

It's based on parcel size and weight, there's a maximum for both, but basically as long as it fits in one of their lockers you're ok. If the packaging is damaged but item appears ok they'll accept it and record the condition, photograph it etc, but if the contents are obviously damaged in transit they'll refuse to accept and return to sender.

Afaik yes, I've gotten PCBs using them and I know another person who got a tasty Gigawing CP2 board using them. I had my reservations about them initially too but they're brilliant, fantastic service so far.

The weight limit for the €3.50 price is 10KG. Which is amazing. So as long as it fits in the biggest box (which look huge) and comes in under 10KG then you won't have to pay anything extra.

Just make sure to pick it up in 48 hours or it costs an additional €3.50 for every extra 48 hours.

Plus, even if you ship a mega large box that's also very heavy and well over the limit they will just contact you and let you pick it up for the normal 3.50 at their sorting office. Or you can arrange a courier from them to any address for a decent price.

Know a lad who shipped a bike engine this way :) Needless to say they're weren't to impressed when he went to collect at the sorting office.

Haha, well within reason I suppose.
I got 4 PCB's delivered last month and I got them couriered over to me(I thought they would fit within their limits but the guy put them in a huge box).
Not quite as heavy as bike engine :)

XSeed are teasing a new game and it looks very likely to be a Ys IV localisation. Makes that Vita purchase well worth it!

Also the longer it stays there, the longer it runs the risk of contracting a horrible STD.

Anyone planning to be in las vegas any time soon? Just read about another video games + alcohol establishment that's doing a roaring trade, a la barcade. They have a nice collection of classic cabs, and you can play consoles (including retro consoles) and multiplayer games sitting round a horseshoe bar being served reasonably priced drinks by pretty girls :D

    http://www.insertcoinslv.com/

Man, i wish there was something like that here somewhere. If they didn't close, i'd never leave.

I was in Vegas last year and found a similar enough place; a retro shop, with free-to-play cabs, which was next to a brothel.

Atavan doesn't joke when it comes to Westlife.
I'd love to send that game to Game Grumps though

I don't. I take my crap games very seriously. One game I've actually really wanted since I was a kid is the spice girls game on the ps1.

    http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2013/01/31/8-of-the-capcom-arcade-cabinet-games-seemingly-revealed-by-the-esrb-ghosts-n-goblins-is-one-of-them/

Capcom made a retro splash earlier this month when they revealed that they have plans to re-release a bunch of classic games onto the PlayStation Network to celebrate their 30th anniversary, with them coming via the Capcom Arcade Cabinet.

While official word from them about specific titles, pricing, and release dates will be detailed on February 7th, the ESRB seems to have leaked at least a portion (or maybe all) of the games coming to the Capcom Arcade Cabinet today.

Check out the recently rated titles below:

    1942
    Black Tiger
    Commando
    Ghosts ‘n’ Goblins
    Legendary Wings
    Section Z
    SonSon
    Vulgus
It’s entirely possible that more games will be announced on February 7th.
