Just done a full inventory of my games collection, as its getting to the stage now where I do be danger of buying doubles. Jeez there's some embarrassing holes in my collection, will have to remedy that next year!

I know that feeling! There's been once or twice where I've bought a double, genuinely thinking I didn't have it.

Yeah has nearly happened a few times lately, gonna type it up properly as it'll be handy to have a reference

I have that problem with books at times not so much with games though. I try to stick to my saved searches until I get them. If I didn't I'd be buying crap left right and centre
    .
By the way if anyone is interested there's outrun, double dragon and afterburner for sale at €5 each in Dublin. Double dragon no manual though and coupled with the fact that its meant to be fairly difficult due to some in game issues I'm staying away.

It has nothing to do with the fact I purchased a box full of books recently that has crippled all my cards, nothing at all.

I'm reading a book called End of Mr. Y at the moment and due to certain narrative developments therein I am currently paranoid of any boxes full of books.

Can't say I've ever doubled up on anything gaming wise. I did sit down and watch Manhattan Murder Mystery once, and only realised halfway through I'd seen it before.

i am well used to it . sure i don't really give a crap abut star wars either .

there is nothing wrong liking sonic adventure

Well, you still rate a lot higher than those folk who love CDi Zelda games, Burn Cycle and own a PAL Megadrive with an RF cable, oddly these are all the same person..... he also has Superman 64 and LoD, so you have a way's to fall before you hit game taste bottom my friend.

And, you do know we are joking right?
There is nothing wrong with liking Sonic Adventure, it is certainly a lot better that the later offerings.
I did like the Knuckles sections in the sequel I think, felt almost Mario like in it's focus on environmental exploration, climbing around the Casino was good fun for example, and Amy Rose running from the pursuing... a robot I think it was.
Anyways, all in the name of fun, after all, who am I to judge, I like Halo ODST, Warhammer: Firewarrior and Coldwinter, if it sold feck all or lets you kill Covenant to smooth jazz, I'm there baby! ;)

The Egg Viper was an awesome boss!

The Chaos bosses were farcical - fighting a load of water you had to jump towards three times to kill.

Biggest problem with the game was that the avoidance of bottomless pits was the only real challenge in the whole game. That and figuring out where the heck to go. And the inherent creepiness of real-world Sonic.

OK, I had several problems with it ;) Impressed how will the framrate held up during the faster sections, though. Came at the cost of interactivity, but it rarely stutters.

Awesome news, chatting up sailors in bars and in 720p!

I never enjoyed the series, though I have it on both DC and Xbox.
Found it all so, boring... Going to work, completing menial tasks, feeding a cat....

Leave the cat to die and waste all your money on Outrun and Space Harrier in the arcade.

I sort of felt like that with shenmue 1 at times but the attention to detail was glorious and enjoyed the second half of the game.

Shenmue 2 is an overall better game , when the story got going i was hooked.

If this is true I will be very... very happy with my recent WiiU purchase.

In other news I wish the ****ing courier company would deliver the bastard already!

Who wants me to do an unboxing video? :P

I think Retr0 posted that earlier, I wonder can it be addressed with a software update at some stage

I'd love to see a console bound Warhammer Total War, along the lines of the underappreciated Spartan Total Warrior game

Nope. The whole 'inevitably taking damage from punching inanimate objects, even when you're being careful and planning routes around them' jazz is a misguided stab at realism. Some designer got a chuckle out of going 'ah, they decked the minions, but they'll never expect the barrel/wall/grate/need to draw breath'.

It's one of those games I really want to be good at so I can see the rest of it!

I crash a van recently and now the car is broken into outside college. Window smashed! Smash and grab in which that was grabbed was a bag of wool!
Some really crafty thieves in Limerick!
Thankfully didn't have any games floating around in it like I had for the last few weeks.

I got to the last boss once, never beat it. It's very short but ridiculously tough. The one life thing is ridiculous.

I've been trying like a mad mad to get good at it over the last few days. To be honest, I don't think I'm any better now than when I started.

I've been playing it on the Megadrive Collection for Xbox360. And, for my sins, I've been using that discs save feature to advance. It's not helping much. Playing it on the arcade stick gives it a great feel though.

Trust Nintendo to resurrection the PAL/NTSC wars...

That's BS. I really really want the next gen consoles to get back compaibility right. It would be a major selling point for someone like me who hasn't got space to connect 47 retro consoles to their TV but still likes playing old games.

PS3 had it, then got rid of it. 360 has it but it's got lots of video bugs and he list of supported titles is incomplete. Why not just include hardware-based BC, charge the extra tenner, and be done with it?

The second Wii U GamePad prototype:

I think the first prototype was just a bunch of cats taped together.

I'd still prefer it over a Wiimote.
