My first post on boards is me confessing my undying love for FFVII and anyone that doesn't say it's the best game ever is an idiot. I'll check what my first one here was but it would have been a long time ago, back when disco stu posted here.

My first post on A&R talking about absolute heresy:
    Just 2 questions:

    1. Does Project64 support anologue controllers.
    2. How do you fix the texel alignment problems with the geforce cards in N64 emulators.

    My first ever post:
Right listen to me cos I know what i'm talking about.
the two best games on ps1 and possibly ever are FF7 closely followed by Metal Gear Solid. FF7 wins out because it has the best story ever and nothing has ever come close to the experience metal gear solid delivers. Anyone who says otherwise obviously hasn't played these games. And ignore Prae.

    Haven't changed a bit.

Does anyone have any idea about modding RGB cables? I just want to be sure before I make a mistake and become RGB-less.

My problem is the PoS TV I've inherited off my brother. The remote broke and I can't find a universal remote that will let me change the aspect ratio and I can't do it from the buttons on the TV.

The problem with RGB is that it sends a signal to the TV to automatically choose widescreen. I was wondering if I removed the wire connecting the pin that carried this information would I end up stopping the screen going to widescreen? I can get the original aspect ratio with composite since it doesn't automatically go to widescreen. My worry is that I think that this wire also tells the TV to engage RGB mode and I don't want to be left with a crappy composte cable.

Here a mod that might work, depending on what console you want to use........

I'd have nabbed the CRT's but they had already been rained on for hours on Sunday so I genuinely felt bad that they went to waste :(

It should be ok to take the TV as long as it is fully dried out before trying to turn it on, that will involve taking the back off to make sure all the moisture has gone.

I have seen a Hanterex MTC9110 monitor been taken from a water soaked cab and it worked after a long drying period. The cab was left outside a back garden for years with no cover.

The black one is a trini I think. No haven't rescued any of them as they got rained on all weekend before I seen them and I don't fancy drying them out for days/weeks.

Extra sad for me as I'm currently looking for a trini and this is just around the corner from me.

Why not collect it, leave it to dry out for a month or so and then hope for the best?

Worst case scenario you put it back in their drive :D
