No, I haven't really. I did it once a couple of weeks ago and everything went black as hell from the flame smoke. I suppose I could just give it a few pumps from the battery though?

My second coil lasted just over a week before the flavour started to drop off. I didn't try to clean or dry burn it though.

well the wick outsidfe of the coil can go pretty black alright but i can't say I've noticed that affecting the flavour at all though I was pretty paranoid about that when I first got the RDA

once I get the coil looking clean and the wick undere the coil pretty white, I just throw the cap back on and filler up again

one thing I keep meaning to do is to leave a bit of extra wire sticking out of the posts when I make the coil, so that I can take the entire arrangement out and properly clean the wick outside of the coil witha lighter to get it sparkling white again.. with that extra bit of wire I can easily put it back into the posts again and have it as new.

I never remember to do this though and I always snip the wire about a cm away from the posts

Actually, I must say that I'm loving this eGo-C twist with the RDA. It's pumping out great TH and vapour at 3.8v using a 1.8 ohm coil.

Just as good too cos for some reason I've had a few days worth of cravings this week. 6 months full time vaping and this week has been tough enough but the vaping has been keeping it at bay.

Ever get that hankering? I assume it's just something that comes around and wanes again.

I got some strawberry milkshake yesterday too and find it okay but I don't get the love that most people seem to have for it.

i always had that one tasting "damned good" in my RDA, but one coil I made.. just one in particular and it was ****ing incredible
the problem was none of my other juices tasted very good with that coil, it was an orange ice pop solo coil i think the same might be true for the milkshake, as I always get very good flavour.. but honestly it tasted better in a boge.


i made up a new coil just to see if I could replicate the one i was vaping this morning, and I think I got it. 3.8v 1.8coil like yourself, very happy with it. will vape it at this for a few days to break it in then push it up to 5v

I dont get the hankering really.. but if im watching a movie and someone lights a cigarette, I get an instant craving. its not the nicotine really it's just the... everything else of it. the smell of the packet, the feeling of it on my lips, holding it in my fingers, etc etc etc.. the actual acct of smoking itself still disgusts me

Yeah, that's it with me too. The feel of it in the fingers, lips and stuff.

What set me to thinking about them was a real pretty lady really enjoying one last Sunday laying off in the sun, overlooking the sea. Boy, was she enjoying it and she fecking put the thoughts of it in my head!

Yeah, that's what I was telling myself too. I suppose some things act as triggers. Must get some 18mg to have for times like that though.

Just shows though that the addiction itself is always there and the vaping is just replacing it. Wonder how many people have given up vaping?

I do think that if I had to, I could probably quit vaping cold turkey easier than quitting fags cold turkey though.

i can go way longer without vaping than I ever could have without a cigarette without being incredibly irritable or running around the house looking for cigarettes I stubbed out before they were fully done

i dont think it'd be easy really, but certainly a lot easier. but it takes years for the re-lapse danger to go away so even if you quit smoking and vaping, you'd have to be on your guard for so long before you'd be able to really relax around people smoking cigarettes

I had a few cravings today, the coil I had in the RDA was terrible and the carto I had with me was pretty bad too. I just decided not to vape for a few hours and I was fine then. I find bad vaping makes me want to smoke, but like above I can just not vape for ages pretty easily.

I've read other people saying the same, and I saw some studies which suggest that nicotine on it's own isn't hugely addictive and doesn't lead to bad withdrawal symptoms. But it is very habit forming, some people even use it to build good habits like studying, exercise etc

It must be something in the weather lads, I know I don't really post in this thread cus I know nothing about repairables, but after seeing your comments about cravings......

Today at about 3pm, I would of ate a packet of marlboro lights....the thought only lasted about 2-3mins, maximum.....I guess it was cus I was changing a carto in my jtank and didn't have a vape for a while...but it was the first moment of cravings I got in the last 5.5 months....I think it was mainly I filled the tank with a juice I didn't really like, and was just using it up this morning before changing the carto.....I really don't want to get a feeling like that again..hopefully it was a once off thing.

Happens every now and again to me as well. I've had about 5 occasions in 4 1/2 months where its been really tough and its always when something goes wrong like a juice spill or leak or when having a bad vape day. I guess that its just the need for nicotine and the subconscious tells us that it would be easier to light up and get an instant hit. It does pass quickly though but its tough when it happens. I tend to have 2 or 3 devices and flavours on the go at any given time for this reason.

did 2 today, just can't get it right

still a great vape but.. could be better

You could always keep a notebook/spreadsheet and write down the details of your set-ups...what works and what doesn't. People do that for mixing and it helps.

Actually, there's a market in Japan for dvds of white women smoking. Usually scandinavian types sitting on stools inhaling and blowing smoke towards the camera. Nothing else, just hours of the stuff. Some sort of strange fetish...odd people the Japs:)

I have to admit it.....on a hot summers day, I do find the sight of an attractive girl with sunglasses on relaxing by the sea smoking a cigarette very hot.........particularly when she's taking a leisurely loving drag . Sorry for bringing the thread down to my level............

Anyway, I did my first dry burn this morning. The coil I'd been using was a couple of days old and I'd used a good bit of the strawberry milkshake in it. There was quite a strong, not nice, tase off it and I was thinking of doing up another coil but said I'd chance a dry burn using a battery.

Some junk and smoke off it!! Eventually the coils glowed red and the wick went white!! Vaping like a champ again now and the flavour is back to it's original taste again.

I've been dumping coil and wick;s by the new time but it looks like all I needed to do was a dry burn!

Made a wick using cotton wool today. I mean cotton wool from one of those cotton wipes which are flat. I cut off a sliver and wound the coil around it.

Worked great! After a while I got kind of afraid it would catch fire into my mouth though so changed it out again!

Lovely flavour and vapour off it too and the wire really embedded into the wool. If I got one of the clear tubes I'd do it again cos I could see how wet it was but just wouldn't chance it when I can't see inside.

spent most of the day in a foul mood because I couldn't get any coils right in my RDA, nothing was working and everything tasted the same.. I was recoiling every half hour and chain vaping so much I was getting headaches and generally feeling like ****

turns out all I had to do was not vape for 2 hours, vaping a coil I'd previously written off as garbage and it's amazing. Guess it was a combination of my taste buds being whacked from all the vapour and my body just not wanting any more nicotine so not giving me the enjoyment from the vape. Something to watch out for in the future when I'm stressing out over why my coils are giving me issues.

Hate them days when nothing works but luckily they are few and far between.

Yeah. Happens alright. I always find that the RDA gives greater satisfaction than the other hardware though. The draw is always perfect and it seems to give a nic boost over the other things.

I'm using the same coil/wick for a week and it's still working great after a wash/dry burn yesterday.

If only there was something to put it into to stop the leaks from the air hole - I suppose not having too much juice in there is the obvious answer but sometimes it's hard to know without popping off the top.

removed the 510 adapter from the throathit and screwed the rda straight in, its drawing just the same as the ego now so I guess the adapter was.. i dunno, faulty or something?

i cleaned it out there's no juice in there or anything but it was still affecting something with the RDA

been fiddling with the rda all day again. i dont think the nicotine is too important for me anymore, it's the flavour of the vape I'm after and that's what I'm having the most trouble with. Constantly hitting a wall of good but not good enough. getting a bit annoyed with my inconsistency with it, yesterday fantastic today just falling short every time and im pretty sure if I had a hi-res camera and took detailed photos of my coils every time I wouldn't know what i was doing differently.

Maybe you just need to consider using a different atty.
Whilst the RDA is a good atty, it's no good if ya can't get a consistent vape to enjoy.

hopefully I'll be able to scrape enough money together to get my RTA next month and I'll give that a shot

still I can take heart that even when I'm not getting the consistent performance I have no intention of going back on the fags although I almost did reach for my last box of boge cartos this afternoon

I done all i could with the RDA but just could'nt enjoy it as much as i wanted to.

Am sure by now you have mastered making coils and tried loads of different ways but it's just not happening. As you mentioned before, the Vapefest will be a good opportunity to compare with others who have one.

Try a RTA at Vapefest maybe, easy enough to sell if ya buy one anyway.
