Yes, it's heading down some sort of route, but I don't know what...

Jaysus those Americans are awfully touched in the mind! I'm half watching this show on National Geographic about people in the US who are preparing for an EMP strike, the apocalypse etc. The things they're doing would actually scare you!

Motors related: lots of cars are built in the US :pac:

Pff, I wouldnt discount everything the tinfoilers say. There is a solar flare cycle every 11years, each with the chance of a major eruption. We (as in Earth) simply (so far, mostly) are not in the big ones path due to alignment (ie blind luck as we spin around the sun). We used to have more Solar monitoring equipment, but its all going end of life now and no government is willing to spend the $$ to replace it as you know, we havent had a catastrophic solar flare since the Carrington event in 1859. This isnt theory, this actually happened and if it happened tomorrow the effect would be civilization changing as unlike 1859, the height of technology today isnt the telegraph.

Motor Related: I suspect only old diesels will operate after a major solar eruption due to compression ignition design and lack of electronics. :D

    Fiona,

If you're running down the route of well..... eh, that route and it's mainly for the economy on a long run to Cork, would you consider possibly purchasing an older type Diesel? A bad example but an example nonetheless. Clearly this lad is in la la land with his price tag

Aye. Because you'd be in the better position then.
2005 Nissan path finder for delivering pizza.

I salute you sir. just legend

My local Pizza lads either deliver in a ultra lowered Honda Civic, which barely makes it over the speedbumps in the estate or a VW Vento on Porsche rims :) Actually, the Vento isn't used for delivering pizza anymore, but was for a long time.

    True, I hope!

Well if anything I learnt a lot today and that's a good thing. I would defo be a lot more confident going to view a car on my own now I know what to be looking out for.

If not, then it wasn't ment to be and you might have dodged a bullet. That's the way to look at it anyhow.

And somehow go for a fair bit more than €500...

    It wasn't a serious comment, I can't imagine a car she'd less likely buy.

Hate the grill, steering wheel and the front seats (they look like the backs of them are painted body colour)

Other than that it's a well proportioned car but I think it will age badly....

In Navan, outside St. Marys church, is what looks like an abandoned Golf mk4. It has no plates or disc holder....

Rather silly place to dump a car
