    29 weeks today!

Don't have a huge bump at all but I feel like a whale altogether!

Sleepytrees - tossing, turning and heart burn. Nothing worse when OH is snoring beside u!

Going to get my buggy and Moses basket tommorow can't wait

I cant sleep, bump seems to have grown overnight and i just cant get comfortable at all :(

  • Registered Users Posts: 46 kvicka

Had a fab day today. went hill walking for 4 hours and baby slept through all of it. Kicks are starting to get stronger too and my pelvic bone hurts a lot:( but other than that all is well. In week 29 now and getting excited. We managed to buy a cot, beautiful moses bakset and drawers all in one go on done deal...all in excellent conditions.
Checked with nurse and she said if the second person you want to bring is a proffessional i may be allowed to bring them in...in my case it would be a reflexologist who specialises in the relief of labour pain...I ve been going for reflexology besides pilates and swimming and its a great thing...most health insurances cover up tp 10 visits by 50% so well worth looking into. Reflexogoly is meant to be very positiv for your birth prep. For all those hoping to use re-usable ones, which ones are u going to buy??? also another question i have found myelf faced with...vaccinations....how do you all feel about getting your little baby vaccinated???

    Hey girs,
Hope all the bumps are coming along well!I'm finding it so difficult to get comfy at night, have my long body pillow (affectionately called "Snake"), so he's helping me a bit- hubby spent the night rolling me back onto my side as I kept flopping back last night!!lol!!pillow at the front of me, hubby at the back-being well propped in the bed!!Hee-hee!!

Just an idea- anyone interested in joining a facebook group for the November bumps?I mentioned it over on the Limerick bump thread about a Limerick group as we would all be kinda in the same are, but everyone on here would be at about the same stage developmentally, so I'm sure there would be loads of tips n tricks we could share and perhaps arrange an oul coffee meetup or something?

I don't mind setting one up if ye're up for it?Sure let me know:)

10wks and 4 days to go!! I'm going through the nesting stage! Tried to do as much cleaning as possible today but weather was so hot! After cleaning the bathroom and doing a few loads of washing I was pumping sweat and had to sit down! I have really low energy levels. I've started the iron but this is only my third day. I've heard it takes 4wks to kick in!

I'm not feeling that prepared! Still need moses basket, Baby bath, breast pump and stuff for me for the hospital! I know i still have another 10wks so trying not to panic too much.

I'm a bit lost when it comes to packing bags for the hospital... Do we pack a labour bag, a baby bag and a bag for my hospital stay and my partners bag?

Can I not just though everything into one bag?? What's everyone else doing?

Can you not bring all the bags into the hospital with you when in labour or are you only allowed bring in labour bag?

Hope everyone is keeping well!! Please let this sun go away!

    Hi all

Only 8 weeks to go now! Time is flying. Finishing up work in 6 weeks (hopefully)
The heat has me killed altogether. OH bought ne a little fan from euro shop it's a life saver!

With my first I had a bag for me and bag for baby. We left both in labour ward while I was in delivery room and then moved everything to post natal ward. ( he carried it all)

For baby I just packed 1 packet of nappies, some vests/babygrows and a outfit to take it home. Scratch mits and hats are v important. I bf so didn't worry about bottles etc.

For u make sure to have breast pads & cream for sore nipples- my god the pain! :(
Maternity pads ands comfy jammies are a must as well. Little bit if makeup for if visitors are takin photos - sounds very vain but it will give u a boost if your feeling blah.

We are on the home stretch now ladies :)

god bless fans! I have one in the bedroom! best money ever spent.

Thanks for all the advise. Planning on Bfing too so will remember to bring breast pads and cream! Can you only wear nightdresses at hospital or is it ok to wear pjs? I love my Pjs but obv won't be able to wear them during labour.

    We are nearly there :D

I took a nightdress and ended up not wearing it they gave me a hospital gown just wore pjs then for the next 2 days! Got some cheap string vest tops in penneys that matched my bottoms easy to feed baby then!

If possible get midwife to show you asap how to get baby to latch on correctly as that was were I went wrong didn't want to ask for help and ended up with v. sore boobs!

Had the exact same thing last night! weird! I was hopping around on one leg for a about ten minutes! First time I've got one in this pregnancy. It's still feels tight and sore today! Must be a third trimester pregnancy thing!

Ya I've been getting those pains a good bit- feels like the muscle is an elastic band thats been stretched and stretched and that the muscle is actaully going to snap- well that's what it feels like to me- I've woken a few times in the name screaming with the pain- hubby hits it for me and releases the tightness in it.

Hi all, Hope everyone is coping with this hot weather! I'm on a mad cleaning buzz. Feel great because got lot of cleaning up done! Still loads to be sorted out with house but feel like I made a start!

I was in Rotunda on Friday because doctor sent me there with a letter after my routine check up, He thought I had pre eclampsia but I don't! Waited there for 5 hours to be told everything is grand! Just got a lecture about wearing my compression socks! I was avoiding wearing them but finally bought them in Boots for only 28euro and started wearing them today. Have to wear them until birth and then self inject for six weeks after birth because I'm at a higher risk of blood clots. I haven't had a blood clot yet but they are going on family history etc. Also found out at Rotunda that baby is engaged but they said that was normal, almost 30wks! I knew he was engaged because I felt a different feeling in my bump, it was lower down and i felt more pressure on my bladder and an electric shock feeling, if that makes sense!

Haven't packed my hospital bags yet, I still need to wash all the baby clothes and pick myself up a few bits and pieces.

How is everyone else surviving with the heat?

I posted these on the pregnancy chat thread but I'm too proud and thought I'd post them here too. :D

Went for a 3D scan Saturday and despite having a sleepy uncooperative baby (he was wide awake on the journey to the scan but one we got there was asleep with his hand over his face) we still got some nice pictures of his face.

Oh god, those pictures are adorable :D

I so want a 3D scan! How many weeks pregnant are you?

I'm 32 weeks. I was worried the pictures would be awful as I'm right at the very tail end of when they recommend getting them done. I thought I'd go in and see nothing but the back of a head wedged down into my pelvis but I'm really happy with them. I was initially a bit disappointed that he slept right through it but I got a good look at his face and it's funny how disgruntled looking he got when the sonographer tried to shake him awake.

Lets hope he enjoys sleeping as much when he is born :D
It's such a clear picture of his face, you must be delighted! I'm so jealous really want one of my little boy as well :)

Sure if he was awake you might not have got such a clear picture. None of my hospital scans are clear at all because my boy wouldn't stop moving! So maybe it was a good thing he was sleepy!

  • Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 12,915 Mod ✭✭✭✭iguana

That's what the sonographer said. She said often the baby moves so much that all they get is a blur, they can't get a clear photo at all and even the dvds isn't great as you can't make anything out properly. And he'd really been kicking up a storm earlier in the morning, so would almost definitely have been a blurry baby. If he sleeps this well when he's born I'll be incredibly lucky. The sonographer was really giving him big shakes and all he did was shift away as much as he could and keep on sleeping. I don't think a bomb would have woken him.

Thread really quiet again! How are all the November bumps doing?

I'm feeling a lot of pressure when walking or moving. Baby movements are really strong. my whole belly moves. It's kind of freaky but nice!!

heartburn is definitely getting less. Legs kill while walking though.

    Is everyone getting prepared now?

I bought in non bio washing powder and going to wash all the new baby clothes tomorrow maybe.

Can't Believe it will be October next week! It will fly by! I'm actually looking forward to going into labour and getting it all over with!
I washed all the new baby clothes today. Cried a little at how small everything was :). Really excited!

So sorry to hear about sdp :( will they induce you quicker because of it?

I had my labour antenatal class yesterday and I came out desperately wishing I was a man. I know it's good to be informed but I think it's shattered some of the delusions I was clinging to about labour being like intense exercise, painful but ultimately exhilarating. :(

I felt after my antenatal workshop really positive! Almost looking forward to labour. I found the midwives very positve. It's gonna be very painful but pain with a purpose! think of the pain relief too! At the mo all we can take is paracetmol which isnt great but we will have stronger stuff at hosp which we aren't used to so hopfully be super effective :). I just keep thinking its going to hurt but it can't last forever! I can't wait to go into labour at this stage!

You get to hold your baby at the end though, much more rewarding than any exercise you'll ever do. And by the time you hit 38/39 weeks you will be praying desperately for labour pains ;)

Counting down the weeks and days! Feel like it's getting harder to move and walk and clean and do stuff and yet feels like long time to go!!

Can't wait to be back to myself and have the little man here :)

Has anyone got restless legs? I was kept awake all last night with them! Torture!

Bump has moved further down and acid reflux is getting less! Finally!! I don't have to live off gaviscon as much!

Got hospital apt on Wednesday.. looking forward to asking them lots of questions!

Made a list of stuff i need and hopefully get most of it this weekend. The list wasn't as big as a couple of months ago as I've been buying nappies and wipes weekly and some small stuff.
