    ***LEAGUE OF IRELAND BETS***

We're back after the summer break! Just myself and Aidan Morris picking bets this week with Graeme's approval! We have two. Aidan will be at Bohs/Drogheda, while I'll be at Shels/Finn Harps.

Derry City -v- Cork City - Friday 7.45pm
Cork City make the long trip to Derry tomorrow night, a 600+ mile round trip! The key info here that Graeme O Rourke mentioned is that Cork actually travelled up on Thursday and are staying the night in Derry so will be fresh!
Derry find themselves sitting in 9th with just 3 wins in 17. Cork are sitting 2nd from top having lost just once this season to table toppers Dundalk but have won 11 and drawn 5.
Cork will definitely be without John Dunleavy and Kieran Djilali who remain sidelined with knee injuries, while John Kavanagh will miss out with a hamstring injury. Michael McSweeney is also a doubt, having been ill during the week. Colin Healy will also miss the game as he serves the first of a two match suspension, but Darren Dennehy returns from a one match ban.
Cork will want to win to keep the pressure on Dundalk with a win and with European campaign starting next week they'll want to build on their momentum before the break.

    Cork win @ 19/20 (Ladbrokes) - MEDIUM

    Bohemians -v- Drogheda Utd - Friday 7.45pm
5th placed Bohs go head to head with 8th placed Drogheda! Bohs coming into this on the back of a huge 3-1 win against rivals Shamrock Rovers while Drogs into this on the back of 2 wins and a draw!
In their 17 League games this season Bohs have scored 23 and conceded 17 while Drogs have scored 18 and conceded 27.
Bohs are still without the long-term injured, Derek Pender, Dan Byrne and Marc Griffin, and Jason Byrne will be out for a few weeks with a calf strain, while Dylan Hayes, Paddy Kavanagh and Kealan Dillon are also sidelined.
Robbie Creevy, Dave Mulcahy and Anto Murphy benefited from the week off to regain full fitness.
Drogheda will be without the suspended pair of Sean Brennan and Shane Dunne while Mark Hughes is missing through injury. Sean Thornton is the only injury doubt with a hamstring complaint.

Over 2.5 Goals @ EVENS (General) - MEDIUM

Dundalk/Limerick - Dundalk far too short
    Galway/Shamrock Rovers - Goals
St. Pats/Longford Town - Goals, this would have been a bet but Pats missing Conan Byrne and Killian Brennan
    Bray/Sligo - Value in Bray

First Division looks a minefield this week.

What do you think of these?

    All to win

    Cork (away vs Derry)
    St Pats (home vs Longford)
    Wexford (away to the cabs)
    Shamrock (away to Galway)
    bohs v drog BTTS

    about 4-1

Wouldn't disagree with any of them but4 to 1 is short for a 5 timer

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,513 ✭✭✭seanhynes

Fagan anytime is good odds on Ladbrokes evens if he starts ,only 4/7 PP 8/11 on boyles would have to fancy him to score against them,he's scored a couple since he's came back from injury

1 win and 1 loss! Coming into European season now which means things get very dodgy with potential upsets.

    I got them @ 11/8.

Waiting on Shamrock away win and cork city to qualify both @11/8 for over €1,500 in a good few doubles/trebles.

They finished 4th in their league last year. Their season ended last month so I think rovers will have the match fitness that will get them the win.

    ***LEAGUE OF IRELAND BETS***

European games have come into focus now so League games are a bit all over the place. Few teams without fixtures this weekend due to European involvement which makes for harder pickings! 3 small bets this week as it's a tough one., short write ups this week.

Athlone Town v Cobh Ramblers - Friday 7.45pm
Athlone have been on a downward spiral since their opening 4 games and a lot more was expected from the pre-season League favourites. Cobh have gotten some good results since Stephen Henderson returned as manager, they've managed 3 draws and a win in their last 4 and see themselves just 4 points behind Athlone. They've managed 4 draws in their last 5 away games too.
Athlone had a bit of an exodus today with Ian Sweeney, Stephan Quigley, Philly Hand, Shane Cusack, Gary Burke and Michael Brown have all being released/left Athlone Town for various reasons. Garbhan Coughlan and Robbie Gaul will be unavailable for the next a two weeks after they were both called up to the Irish team for the World University Games. Of these 8 players a few of them would be first teamers and will be big loss to Athlone.

Cobh Double Chance @ EVENS (General) - SMALL

Wexford Youths v Waterford United - Friday 7.45pm
Waterford find themselves last place, with the expected Roddy revival yet to begin. While Wexford find themselves top with 3 wins on the trot.
Wexford will be without at least 5 first team players who have flown out to South Korea with the Irish University Football team:
Last (Defender, 6 games, 0 goals)
Mulligan (Midfielder, 10 games, 4 goals)
Higgins (Midfielder, 15 games, 0 goals)
Molloy (Midfielder, 10 games, 2 goals)
Broaders (Midfielder, 1 game, 1 goal)
Bonner (Midfielder, 10 games, 1 goal)
4 of these started their last game, a 3-2 loss to bottom side Cabinteely.
Waterford are missing 3 players to this trip to Korea, their first choice keeper, a first choice defender and a rotation defender. They should have plenty of cover though.

Waterford Double Chance @ 2/1 (General) - SMALL

Limerick FC v Bray Wanderers - Saturday 6.30pm
Both teams have been a shambles to say the least this season, Limericks well documented banning of fans, they haven't win a game all season and have lost their last 6 in a row.
While Bray have been suffering financial issues, potential court cases and only today rumours arose that manager Trevor Croly may be on his way out after only 52 days due to money issues.
Still with saying all that, Bray are a solid price for the DNB, Bray have said all players are paid up to date and well Limerick are shockingly bad.

Bray Draw No Bet 19/20 (General) - SMALL

Drogheda/Dundalk - Derby game and on TV, no bet
Finn Harps/Cabinteely - Harps too short, no bet
Longford/Bohemians - Could go either way
Sligo/Galway - Derby game, Sligo in a mess the past few weeks with the manager situation

I've also had a dabble on Waterford win at 17/2

Just to add to the info above, Bonner left Wexford 3 or 4 weeks ago. Wexford will also be without their second choice keeper Houghton - also in Korea it seems. Plus, Aidan Keenan left action last week with what looked like a serious injury by all accounts. Conor Whittle is probably not available either

Of the Waterford players missing - Brian Nolan is a midfielder - a regular starter and one of their most consistent performers. Mernagh is also a loss - when fit/available he is a starter. Anthony ODonnell, Shane Nolan, Craig Burns, Greg Peel and Jack Doherty have all left in recent weeks or this week.

    Thomas Croke is injured.

Waterford may also be without Ross Fitzpatrick and Pat Fitzgerald - its unclear if they have left the club yet or not - if they havent they will be in next few weeks

With limericks losing streak at the minute 3.20 is a good price!

    reminding me of Newcastle :pac:

Cobh and Bray win! Logically small stakes should have been on the 3 wins but better playing it safe! Good week!

    ***LEAGUE OF IRELAND BETS***

More European games this week so a lacking of League games Bray write up courtesy of Aidan and the Shels one by myself.

    Cabinteely -v- Shels - Friday 7.45pm
I'd never tip Shels but it's short pickings this week and the team seem to have finally clicked! Shels have been in a good run of form lately, with a big win against Finn Harps last time out. No League game last week seen them play a good run against Hearts in which new signing James English scored two. Shels know they need to take advantage of UCD's European games to overtake them into 3rd spot! The pitch has been fixed in Cabinteelys ground which should allow Shels play it on the ground which hassled them a lot last time out here. Shels have won 5 and drawn 1 in their last 7 League games.
Cabinteely find themselves 2nd last having been on a streak of 5 losses, 1 draw and a win in their last 7 League games. Cabinteely lost one of their regular players who's played every game this season to Drogheda Utd this week, Pender, 16 games and 3 goals.

    Shels win @ 8/13 (GENERAL) - MEDIUM

Bray Wanderers vs Derry City - Saturday 5:45 PM
Bray have been doing quite well lately despite all the financial issues that seem to be happening within the club. Coming off the back of a win away to Limerick and also winning the game prior to that at home to Sligo. In the last 24 hours bray have appointed Mick Cooke as manager who should hopefully steady the ship for the time being. They've also signed ex-Dundalk keeper Cherrie who is a great signing for them.
Derry on the other hand haven't won a game in the league in their last 12 game and are playing woeful. They have recently signed Mark Quigley who is a very hot and cold striker, who on his day is very good but in recent times has been extremely poor. I just can't see him hitting the ground running
All in all even with Bray's financial woe's the players have continued to train and have been grinding out results and we feel they have a great chance of winning this game and their odds of 13/5 are too big

    Bray Win @ 13/5 (GENERAL) - SMALL

Unfortunately for Limerick, once the red card came last week that was the end of it. Bray didn't deserve to win mind.

Galway to beat Limerick tonight @ 5/6.
