Apologies for the crappy posting this weekend but its been fairly hectic.

The Galloping Shoe won by a short head yesterday. I backed him at 8/1 for the log and he went off at 7/1. Got him at 10/1 in-shop a few hours after backing him online so it could have been slightly better but profit is profit. None of the other 3 rides did much.

If I had just backed all of them on the nose, I would only have a profit of €21 as far as I can make out. So far I'd have to say its not very profitable but its great to be in the black.

Best day so far. Delighted to see Crowley bag another high-profile race. It looked like he had a heap of horse under him in Ile De Re but I'll admit that I was sceptical 1 1/2 furlongs out as he didn't seem to be picking up to go past the leader. Ground it out nicely though. Love this guy. :p:p

With all the flat racing tomorrow he still only has one ride at Ascot. Hopefully he'll pull out all the stops even though his mount is unproven in the ground.

Since the bankroll has doubled I considered doubling the stakes. I'm going to hold off though and if the bank gets to €300 I'll double then. I'll make €200 the cut-off, below which I'll revert to €5 bets. Long way to go and a lot of luck needed before I have to worry about that though.

Tomorrow is interesting. Ralph Beckett saddles three horses, one the proven Moone's My Name who is current favourite for his race at Ascot. However, Crowley is at Lingfield instead of taking the ride (he comes to Ascot then later to ride Beckett's third horse). At lingfield he is on the other Beckett horse, Colima, who is currently third in the betting.

To sum it up, he seems to be passing up the chance to ride what looks like a fairly good thing to take the ride on something that's seemingly less sure. And then he's coming to Ascot anyway. For the log, I'll be following the rules but I'm going to have a nice bet on Colima tomorrow in-shop. Crowley also has a ride on an outsider in the first at Lingfield.
