Yeah they wore it against Limerick last week - well for the first half anyway, changed for the second half as the plain green back was causing confusion.

Not on there because it has never been worn, not sure what the story is with it. Was featured in the launch pics at the end of 2010 but no sign of it since, not even as a GK change (red has been used instead)

They have gone for the Munster Provincial colours of Royal blue. But, what happens if they ever end up playing Kerry? Both teams wear a dominant green first choice jersey and Kerry usually change to royal blue too. Kerry also have a third choice white jersey, as do Limerick.

There is really only a need for one county team to change. The team playing at home should not have to change their jersey aswell, yet both teams always seem to change under G.A.A. rules.

Actually I think the rule in GAA is that the home team has to change to a second jersey (opposite to soccer, which is probably the exact reason for the rule). In inter-county games both teams usually change, but in club games that's not always possible.

Actually now I think of it, one reason for the home team having to change could be that often it's only when they take the field that you realise there's a problem, especially at junior level. We showed up once in white and the opposition had to switch jerseys. Stands to reason that in that situation the home team are more likely to have another set of jerseys around I suppose.

Same rule in rugby, the home team changes.

The second reason is historically correct Realt Dearg, the home side would have found it easier to come by a change set when a clash occurred.

In the GAA, it seems to be that both teams change for championship and generally the home side for league games, though there have been plenty examples of both changing or just the away side doing so.

When teams with the same change colours meet in the championship, a coin is tossed (eg Cork v Louth 2007, Wicklow v Cavan in 2009 and 10). In other instances, counties may have an agreement, such as Derry changing shirts and Tyrone changing shorts when they meet - though now that Tyrone are permanently all-white this might change.

One rugby area where this has changed in recent times is the Heineken Cup, with the away sides now changing.

They fitted Red Cow Morans hotel before so im sure it wont be a problem. Pity to see the end of that lovely jersey they have. I hope they dont overcomplicate things with this new one

Hyundai are sponsoring their club championship, not the county team.

    New Cork jersey.

    cork-17.jpg

The sponsors logo is pretty ugly to be honest. Purple and green on red. Gok Wan would not approve.

Proposed new Offaly jersey from their county board meeting last night... a lot of opposition to it, it appears

    BB3XzBACAAA68OF.jpg:large

I noticed the Offaly jersey on sunday was changed again from this above one (having to switch jerseys at halftime during the Limerick game probably encouraged the change!) to having the solid yellow from the front run around the back of the jersey in a wide band at the bottom. So the back has far less green on it and far more yellow.

Cork jersey.....Shocking stuff there! Just took the template jersey and stuck a HUGE sponsor right in the middle of it without any effort to at least try integrate it into the jersey...awful stuff!

Extremely ugly. Jersey design itself isn't too different to last years either.

When you compare it to the stand in Mercy Hospital jersey I know which I'd prefer to have!

Cant see all the fuss over the new Cork jersey. It's only a sponsor (not a fashion statement!!!) I'll be sporting one on the Blackrock terrace and in Croker this year whatever the sponsor. C'mon the blood and bandage!!!

Excuse us for wanting a decent jersey for our €60... why dont you wear a red tshirt if you're not too worried about the jersey?

It's a representation of everything that is the GAA in Cork, in my opinion these things matter. It's pretty bad, Cork have had great jerseys for last few years. I suppose the purple on red would not have come out though.

It's kind of bad for Chill too, because it's pretty off-putting. They should have just put the name in white using their own font onto the red background, would have looked fine. I know companies prefer to keep their "brand" colour where possible but that's completely stupid and based on inherited thinking about "brands" rather than any kind of intelligence. Nike do all the NFL jerseys, for example, but their iconic "tick" changes colour for every single one. Something tells me Nike know their sh1t in this regard. I've always thought Cork had a lovely jersey, but that's muck.

Think the jersey itself is really nice. Still undecided about the sponsors logo.

The closer we are to plain red jerseys the better IMO.

I wouldn't take the Cork shirt as the finished article yet. We may see a change sponsor style down the line. Unlikely they will but not beyond the realm of possibility either
