Decided to stay up until this ungodly hour playing FM - was on a roll. Won the treble and finished fourth on the last day of the season. Champions League here we come!

Won the Super Cup, League Cup and FA Cup (first time since 1928 - over 100 years)

I can look back with pride on our season!

City were playing Newcastle and I needed City to lose or draw and not score, with me needing a win and 3 goals to go ahead of them. My match finished one nil to me, however I was watching the latest scores, and city were winning at one stage, then they were 2-2 and checked it just before final whistle and Newcastle had gone 3-2 up.

City sacked their manager and offered me the job, I said no thanks!
Before you get too excited, make sure you have Champions League football. I've seen England drop to three places very quickly.

Lads, Does the game sometimes give incorrect decisions regarding offsides?

I was playing last night, continuing my Man Utd game, and Evra scored a goal that a mile onside but the linesman flagged it!

Maybe I never payed attention to it before...

Yeah it happens me all the time, and give out about in the press conference and get a warning or fine

122 games in the Irish Premier Division and I eventually lose to Limerick 2-3. We were leading 2-0 and all. :(

I'll try get a screenshot out later, but my LOI record unbeaten streak is 8 seasons long almost, was superbly impressed with my team, had a fair few seasons where we only dropped points in 2-3 games if that.

I do find the league itself gets pretty easy after a few years I guess

I've got 4 class keepers. It's gonna break my heart cashing in on two but the profits will let me sleep at night.

I'm also picking up some class young strikers but I don't have the room for half of them!

Ive not been able to play for a few weeks with being busy elsewhere and being away.
After winning the champions league last year, my aim now is to win the league. Havent won the premier league yet in my 4th season with liverpool, but have given myself a damn good first half season.

    5QGCgqY.png

Won every competetive game until the turn of the year, bar 2, and have also picked up the European Super Cup & The world club cup. The team has been awesome, only dropped points against man city (champions 3 out of the past 4 years) and chelsea (who were sh1te, i had 2 goals disallowed and hit the woodwork 3 times!).

Well placed for the 2nd half of the season, 1 point clear with 3 games in hand, into the semis of the league cup, the 2nd round of the champions league and next game is in the fa cup against minnows.

    Invincibles?

Finished fourth in the prem league last season yet I had to qualify for the Europa league group stages! Even though the league had 4 champions league places!

The penny pinching continues once again. Mark Haskins, despite his advancing years proved to be the best signing of the lot as the least was expected of him. Ntombela did well as I ex[ected, as did Jegorov but both were outdone by Haskins in my mind who decided to retire at the end of the year. Torres was a decent back up once he got over his homesickness.

    168ygqq.jpg

I did not want to lose Cole Alexander. He was a great player but his contract was up. He accepted an offer but for some reason never confirmed it and instead decided to join New England at the end of the season. At the time, I was very annoyed but that annoyance subsided as you'll see why.

The League and Cups were quite comfortable, bar the Knockout Cup obviously. Made a balls of the Confederations Cup in the Semi finals and was unable to bounce back in the second leg. Got a little worried in January when my lead was cut to four points but we found form at the right time and wrapped up a first ever league title.

    106ft39.jpg
    30nexhc.jpg

Noticed at some stage that prior to my arrival, the club had only ever won one single cup. Adding another eleven, including three this season is a nice parting gift if I do say so myself.

    14ebcp3.jpg

    Crap again.

    55j6ub.jpg

That, on the other hand, is far better. When I joined four years ago they were in the red. I pushed them deeper into the red, at one stage close to a million pounds. Proud of the turnaround I achieved without the need to sacrifice success.

    5fnk37.jpg

I mentioned a parting gift, the reason why is because I've resigned. We walked the league this season but are still quite a bit off challenging for the Champions League. All the best players want to move to bigger clubs and I'm not interested in at least two more seasons due to how the continental competitions are done. If they were done and dusted in the one season, I'd stay for one more year but I'm not interested in two. Already have new employment which will be revealed in the next installment.

Managed to finish third in my champions league group and sneak into the Europa League round of 32, fully expecting to get hammered in the first knockout round... I don't think I'll ever fully understand how I managed to pull this off. :O

    Yeah it is.
I have the stadium too. Still haven't won a European Cup. Topped my group this time but I've drawn Barca in the knockouts in the CL!

Congrats MB! I'm a club ledge at rovers too now having spent 7 seasons, and still havent won the league, but have a few FA & League Cups to my name, as well as one Europa League Title!

I signed this unreal striker from Corinthians for 18.75 million, and my fans were all complaining saying I spent too much money, its half way through the season and now they love him :D He is a goal machine! Even though he is still unsettled, sent him home once and he requested a transfer because I didnt sign his mate, but his morale is still superb!

I've won the IPD 18 years in a row and have only ever made it to one Europa League final losing it to Leverkusen.

Been a while since my last update and thats simply because I got bored doing the longer one's. Left MP Black Aces of South Africa in the summer of 2015 having just won the Premier Division title for the first time in their history. The team had no hope of winning the Champions League and it's split across two seasons, hence why I didnt stick around. I was unemployed for less than a week before packing my virtual bags and moving to Chile.

I took over First Division (the top division in Chile) side Deportes Concepcion halfway through the season. Two games had been played in the Closing Stage following a 14th (out of 17) place finish in the Opening Stage. I managed to get the team to a 5th place finish but lost in the Quarter Final's of the Play Off's meaning it was a trophyless season. They were out of the Cup before I joined.

Had the winter to do a bit of work with the squad before taking on my first full season. Beat Colo Colo in the first match of the Opening Stage to give me false hope. Ended up finishing fourth as Colo Colo walked to 1st place not losing again all season. Same as last season with a Quater Final elimination in the Play Off's.

In the Closing Stage, Colo Colo again walked the league but I have an excuse this time as I prioritiesed the Cup over the League. Ended up finishing 8th, a massive 17 points behind Colo Colo who finished 12 clear of 2nd. It's kind of like a one horse race. 2nd to 14th was seperated by less than 1st to 2nd. Unfortunatly, finishing 8th meant I got stuck with Colo Colo in the Play Off Quarter Finals. Close loss in the first leg followed by a not so close second leg meant it was three consecutive Quarter Final losses. Ended up sending on the kids as the result wasnt going to change no matter what I did.

The bright point of the League campaigne was Jose Torres. He finished with 32 goals, almost double that of the second placed 17. Averaged just under a goal a game for the season and almost reached 50 in all competitions.

Prioritising the Cup seemed to work as we won every match until the semi finals. Lost the first leg 2-0 but managed to claw it back and win the second leg 3-0. Final ended up being against a lower league side. 4-0 in the first leg meant I was able to send out some kids for the second leg. Finished 1-1 to give me a 5-1 victory and my first trophy in South America along with qualification for next season's Copa Sudamericana. Had considered stepping down before realising I'd be in the Sudamericana. I'll give it one more year but if I'm nowhere close to Colo Colo, I'll be leaving at the end of next season. No point in wasting time if I'm not getting any closer.

Good update - I have been spending my time between FM & Simcity, my fm game file is huge now, and I cant remember how to compress the file...anyone know how? Its gotten quite slow and not as enjoyable anymore, hence why I am spending more time on Simcity, although that is fairly fvcked up too!

Finally after 9 years in charge I have won the Premier League with Blackburn Rovers! It was so tight at the top all season, finally coming down to a two horse race between Arsenal and myself being tied on points, then Arsenal drew, and I lost and it looked like they would win, only for them to drop points with a loss and us winning!!

Won the League and FA Cups (both 4th time in a row)

    2017

Another year over and another year of being nowhere close to the title. Universidad de Chile managed to win the Opening Stage by 4 points as my Deportes Concepcion side came in 6th, only 7 points behind the new title holders. Looked like progress. Continues to look like progress if you only look at positions for the Closing Stage as I shot from 7th to 2nd with a 6-1 win on the final day. Bad news is I was still 11 points behind a rejuvenated Colo Colo. Combined table saw me in third place, a massive 14 points behind Colo Colo. What was that about progress?

Got Audax Italiano in the Opening Stage Quarter Finals. Won the home leg 2-0, got hammered 4-1 in the away leg to once again fall short. Closing Stage Quarter Finals saw me paired with.... Audax Italiano again! 4-4 in the away leg was annoying as I was 4-2 up after 80 minutes. Second leg finished 1-1 so I was thinking I'm through on away goals. Wrong. I'm through as the higher seed? Going out like that would suck! Not complaining as it finally got me to a semi final appearance.

Speaking of the semi finals, got paired with 3rd place Universidad Catolica and figured that was the end for me. 5-1 in the away leg! 1-1 in a dull second leg meant job done and I'm into the final, unfortunately, against the 35 time winners Colo Colo. A draw now wont be enough and they easily beat me 3-0 near the end of the season. The semi final's also seen the end of Jose Torres' career at Deportes Concepcion as he picked up a four week injury. I complained about him earlier in the season but once he agreed to join a new club his form picked up and he finishes with 28 goals. Not bad considering he sulked for the first half of the season and only managed 5.

The final was bad. Lost the first leg 4-1 and was never going to turn that around. As such, I sent out the kids for the last game and lets just say they got a footballing lesson. Colo Colo win rather easily but I get the news of having qualified for the Copa Libertadores for 2018.

The Copa Sudamericana saw a good showing as I made it to the First Round proper before getting one of the worst draws possible against Internacional. A respectable 4-3 loss in the first leg was erased from memory with a 6-2 hammering in Brazil. That's the end of that so. For what it's worth, Internacional went on to win the cup so I guess I cant complain too much.

The Copa Chile was again the highlight of the season. Walked most of it, bar a loss in the first leg of the third round to Union Espanola. Turned it around in the second leg and marched on to a second final in two years where Cobreloa awaited. Scheduling was not helpful as both legs ended up being three days after each leg of my Closing Stage semi final matches. 1-0 victory in the away leg followed by a 5-1 home leg victory made it two Copa Chile's in two years. Starting to think I might be a bit of a cup specialist as apposed to the league.

Two and a half years now in Chile. Two Copa Chile's, two continental qualifications, five top eight finishes, one play off final appearance. A good return but not good enough in my mind. No where close to Colo Colo so I resigned, leaving the club in a very healthy position but having failed to win much. Could have been a good time however as the day after I resigned I get a message saying a nice job has opened up. Applied straight away. Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful. If you're wondering, it was Colo Colo themselves.

Playing FM11 but couldn't find the old thread so putting the update on my Torquay side in here. I think we had just made the Premier League the last time I updated. Come a long way since then.

2015/16 14th in the League, ensuring safety with two games to go.
2016/17 9th place, never looked like going down.
    2017/18 8th place, establishing ourselves

2018/19 4th place, just 7 points off the title. Lost just 3 of our last 37 in all competitions.

FA Cup finalists, losing to Man City on penalties having trounced Sunderland in the Semi.

2019/20 (Last season) 2nd place on 84 points. Lost out to Arsenal who lost their first game of the season in the 37th game. Did a Liverpool, lost just twice all season but drew too many games.

League cup winners, beating Chelsea 5-2 in the final thanks to a Steve Brown hat-trick (who is Michael Owen reincarnate). Our first silverware since the Johnstone's Paint Trophy back in my first season.

Cruised through our Champions League group before beating Benfica 5-1 on aggregate in the last 16. Lost to the legendary Palermo (won 6 of the last 7 Serie A titles) in the quarters. Drew in Italy but lost 2-0 at home after Digao (Wonderkid of a right-back) got sent off after 20 mins.

I still operate off a below average Premier League wage budget and the only player who cost more than £10M is Sandro my captain. Average age of the squad is extremely young also. Biggest regret is having to watch my former striker tear up European football for Monaco thanks to the dreaded "Minimum Fee Release Clause".

Still in a 26,500 seater stadium which we hardly ever fill as Torquay is just too small!

Oliver Norwood is the longest serving player at the club with about 450 appearances. On his way out in the summer though, just not good enough anymore.:(

I have a wonderful record against Man United much to my amusement having won the last 4 matches at Old Trafford while the only side in the league I've yet to beat is Liverpool! :pac:

Longest I've ever stuck with a career in FM and loving it!

Lost the Newcastle (18) match 3-1, raging as we had the most possession and shots but couldnt score!
Lost the Away leg 2-0 and accepted my fate in the semi final
Beat them 2-1 in OT in the Premiership

Now for the home (2nd leg) was 3-0 up and they equalised meaning they were going through on away goals until we scored one more goal, with me shouting get in...match ended 4-1

Meeting Man City in the final

So far have League Cup (5th in row) and Stoke in FA Cup final

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,015 ✭✭✭✭Mc Love

Won the League, League Cup and FA Cup - but succumbed to an uncharateristic 4-2 defeat to City in the CL final. To say I am gutted is an understatement. We were firing everywhere but in the back of the net!
