Bullpup rifles in GTA?!? I don't know why that excites me but it does

    gta-general-08jpg-5a7ddc.jpg

EDIT: Just looking there. It looks like the mag has been released as you can see beneath his elbow but there's still a muzzle flash. Also, the front sight is folded down which is strange considering the distance of the target. Another deal beaker there

The only thing about that doctored map is that it should have a big river flowing through to allow for the guys on the jetskis.
Does LA have a big river?

Well there is the LA river!

The sheer number of new screens in the past few hours combined with my excitement led me to believe that image was from the game. Think its time to put the laptop away for a while :D

Hope you have the option to customize your weapons, a lot of the weapons shown seem to have silencers and different sights attached to them.

Is that from greese? (ive never watched it. :o)

Quick google search gave me this:

    LARmap.jpg

So i suppose it probably is the only river in or around LA.

Alamo Sea is the name of the Salt sea in california, in the background of the desert around the lake you can see Mount Chiliad
    - You can select the characters through a radial menu
    - In the demo they took control of Franklin while he was in the toiletn. In free roaming when you switch character you don't know what he is doing at the moment.
    - During missions switching characters is partially scripted.
    - There are 6 turning point in the plot, they will be deep and long missions. There will be multiple endings based on player choices
    - The main quest is as long as RDR's one.
    - The map is 3 times larger than RDR, if you count the sea(explorable) it's 5 times.
    - The map is fully explorable since the beginning.
    - Wild dogs confirmed, there will be animals.
    - The game has some problems with framerate and there is a lot of aliasing but the complexity and the widht of the scenes rendered are amazing
    - The physics engine has been "rewritten"

    Source:www.multiplayer.it

Underwater world (and underwater caves) and diving equipment confirmed
    - Houser said that missions similar to Taxi, Ambulance and Vigilante ones will be back but "probably not identical to the ones in previous GTA cause they wouldn't fit in the 3 protagonists personalities, but the 3 protagonists will have odd jobs to do".
    - About the 3 protagonists skills: Trevor will be the skilled helicopter pilot, Franklyn the skilled driver and sniper, Micheal the "smooth operator", skilled and versatile.
    - Franklin is looking for a mentor and he finds one in Mike after they meet during one of Franklin repo man jobs.
    - Trevor is inspired in the typical GTA player that only roams around the game creating havoc, death and destruction.
    - According to Houser missions types will vary among "big and small events , explosive, infiltration, super spectacular, family, invasion, hostage recovery, heists and robberies. Plus classic GTA missions but updated and improved."
    - Cover mechanics have been greatly improved and cover will be very important in the gameplay.
    - About the economy Houser says: "you will be able to spend money to buy interesting and fun things… expensive toys. We are still working on the economy but it will be a strong element in the game and players will be eager to make money to spend money. Something along the lines of — I went through all of this to make all this money and now I'm going to spend it on this crazy item."
    - Dynamic music during missions
    - No co-op in single player
    - Multiplayer has been developed by a separate team and it will has been developed as something as important and full of content as SP.
    - COOP confirmed in MP

    Source: GTAV.net

-the map is 100% accessible from the beginning on
-from the start on Michael has a luxury car parked in his garange / trevor has access to a helicopter
-the story builds around 5 or 6 big robberies
-in many missions the three protagonists are working together
-in some missions you only have 2 or you are on your own
-the game decides which character you are controlling during a mission unless
-the character-switch-icon is saying you can switch, then you can play whoever you want
-the graphics shown on the screenshots are actually looking like that in the real game too
-Rockstar pushes the consoles to their limits
-some flickering and juddering still occur but they want to fix that
-radio stations feature weather repots and other news
-multiplayer won't have coop story missions but they might implement some sort of coop style missions

Got all this from the gta 5 forum in neogaf. Thought it will be handy to post them all in one place.

Just a rough idea of how it would look like if the maps of GTA sand andreas, Gta 4 and red dead redemption were combined would look like

What I'm loving is that the game looks so much brighter and colourful in comparison to GTA4.

    Noticed that too.

The shot of the two chars (Michael and Trevor I think...) mid conversation looked class.

The only problem I have with that is R* could easily be making up their own layout, meaning everything could be wrong. I doubt they will do a direct copy of LA, they'll want to do their own thing for GTA.

Well I think IV was somewhat accurate enough, wasn't it (not very familiar with the layout of NYC).

Having the whole place unlocked from the word go is a strange one, though. I wonder if this will affect how well you get to know the place (in the first city in each game, you'd usually have done so many missions there that you'd know the place inside out), I wonder if having the whole map available will mean it will ultimately take longer before you really know where you're going..

Well I assume as each character is in different areas that you will still be able to do just that and will probably take the same amount of time as it usually would because the map seems to be about 3 times (conservatively speaking, i feel i'm underestimating here) bigger than the likes of LC.

I'd say over-estimating, if anything. Rockstar said the overall map, including interiors. I still personally believe the actual height/width of the map, when laid over the GTA IV/RDR/SA maps, will not be much different.

I'm fairly certain R* are including heights in their map size (ie; if you flattened out the map). With lots of interiors, and especially with an ocean taking up a lot of space, I'd say you'd still be able to drive/fly from one side of the map to the other in similar time.

I'd hazard a guess that it'll be x1.5 the size of Liberty City.

    That's just me though.

That said, the new screenshots have me much more excited for this game than the GI article did.

They said it's three times larger than RDR, five times larger if you include explorable ocean. They also said the city alone is twice as big as LC. So I'd say 3x LC would be a lot closer to the mark than 1.5x

Yeah i have to agree with this. Obviously they seen the confusion the "including exteriors and interiors" comment made so were a little bit more straight forward and gave specifics.

Its not that hard to imagine the map size being that size either, look at skyrim, that would be about the size of 3, maybe more RDR maps.

I still don't quite buy it, to be honest. I'm sure we'll see when it comes out, but we were told similar about Liberty City if I recall correctly. R* do a great job on their games, but they do also tend to exaggerate their map dimensions ever so slightly.

But has Skyrim been on a console? I thought it was PC-only?
