If you want to set a KOM on your favourite East-to-West climb, looks like tomorrow afternoon is the time to do it. Easterly winds, gusts up to 100km/h.

Of course, there will also be torrential rain, but what's a little rain?

Philip Deignan is French? If you pay attention to Carlton Kirby you may just believe it. Pronounced "day-ngnan" according to Carlton!!!

The name is French, right? So what's the problem with pronouncing it so?

I have a French last name but I don't pronounce it like I've a mouth full of croissants.

My computer is plugged out for the next couple of hours and I can't see what the video is but would I be right in guessing that's the minkay scene from the pink panther?

That would have made more sense, I was considering the Officer Crabtreee scene from when the Gestapo are undercover selling winkles (or wonkles).

I saw it last night, was tempted to get up at 6am this morning and try it myself with no traffic around. But I decided that would be mean. Also, my bed was comfy and warm.

Yeah, but there's no jersey for it so it doesn't count.

I award myself a point for every downhill KOM I get, and will buy myself a a green jersey with polka dots on when I get 21 of them ...

    (current score 16 :))

I see no problem with using the conditions at the time to get a KOM, especially if cycling solo. I presume a lot of flatish KOMs are from a group working well together + tailwind. I'm keeping my flat KOMs which are all massively wind aided :pac:
