Ivan is still awful with the autocue, but he's brilliant at everything else..

Ivan Yates is in the hot seat for VB.

I never seen the branding changed for a presenter... Something strange going on?

Looks like he is talking to my forehead.

Vote NO according to the Danish lad. He could be right. The Germans will really own us then.

I agree, I'd say Vinny is going to call it a day in the next couple of months. Sam Smyth presented for one week last month, now we have Ivan, it is like TV3 are trying to make up their minds about who will replace Vinny when he leaves.

That term ''institutionalises austerity'' is something that is said very familiar from Paul Murphy; who is on tonight, but from this Danish MEP.

    I hope not! Love VB.

Although I can't imagine him retiring and not being able to comment on weekly political events. He would crack up.

Vinny is out trying to get us a write down in our debts. He has Angela by the throat at the moment.

I see Joe Higgins passed on his notes for tonight's show on to this lad...

"Say bondholders, speculators and bank debts a lot"..

I agree with you hotmail! I'd miss him too but Vinny likes to move about and try new things so I wouldn't be surprised if he decided to leave. I seem to remember him saying that he was only getting €50,000 for presenting the show. (I know that seems like alot of money but when you compare it to his counterparts in RTE, it is peanuts).

Ivan looks like a natural TV political presenter. Good on the wireless too..

    I'm well impressed.

Not as outright rude as Vincent either.

I like this Paul Murphy, he's one of the better speakers from the socialist/ULA group.

I can't listen to him at all, he has the weirdest sound out of him - too annoying altogether

Ivan gets through about twice the amount of questions cos he's so sharp and doesnt get bogged down in petty, childish point scoring..

Ivan just said ''Markozy''; that sounds quite odd does it?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,219 ✭✭✭woodoo

Great point soran makes. Europe will only help us if it suits them either way.

Nah everybody has been using that to describe the power wielded by Merkel and Sarkozy... It's generally used as a pejorative term

He did make a mistake earlier though when he said Germany instead of Greece, and David Ganely instead of Declan Ganley..
