Guys how do I change how much work is put into match preparation? Been looking for ages just cant find it! my match prep is low, hasnt hampered me really but some of my players are unhappy with it and I do think we should be doing a bit more!

Tactics, the screen where you see the pitch overview, bottom left you can choose intensity and you can choose to focus on a specific area i.e attacking set pieces, defensive set pieces etc.

Would he not only be on a youth contract at that age? I've often signed youth players for next to nothing due to their contracts. Don't bother trying to buy him, just try and offer him a contract as soon as you get the option.

if you get them on a youth contract you sometimes have to pay mad money as compo! Once had to pay 9 million. However he played every game at the age of 16!

Ya need it high at the start of a season to get the players used to the formation, postions etc. As the season goes on you can bring it down depending on the level the players are at

Anyone else able to go on a ridiculously good run of form? On a 17 game unbeaten run atm. Never before have I gone this long :/

And I feel like I've just cursed myself now :(

That's nothing, I'm ridiculously lucky in mah game on '09. Managing Newcastle, currently in April 2026. Not lost in league since last day of 2012-22 season. It's actually ridiculous.

I'm unbeaten in the league for about a calendar year now and thought that was good. Your run puts it to shame though. :( I hope you've been winning the league nearly every year or are you a draw specialist?

Picked this up today in Game for 24.99 - cant beat that price. Currently downloading it from Steam (cant believe they have gone that way).

    Any tips for me?

Going to try and start off as I always do at Limerick and work my way up!

Crap loads of viruses going around in my squad even though I always send them home!

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,174 ✭✭✭✭Oat23

Found a bug that lets me play unregistered players. Signed an African on a free outside the window and I can play him right away without waiting for the registration window to open. Pretty easy to get around too. Not bothered reporting it, reported 2 problems in the past and nothing was done about either.

How hard is it to snap out of bad form? Jesus! At one stage, draws felt like losses. At the moment, draws are like wins now as wins are gold dust!

Last month of the Colombian 2nd Division season, my season fell apart. I was top the entire year and then my 26 goal striker and 16 goal winger picked up season ending injuries. I ended up finishing 2nd and now we are in the group stages(Top 8 teams split up into 2 groups, winners of 2 groups go on to play for promotion). Morale is f**ked and I don't have a striker :(.

    I hate this game sometimes.

My starting 11 is old as the hills, most of the team is over 30 so maybe that had a role to play. If I don't turn this around and get promotion I'll have to let go of a bunch of these players and get younger ones, which is hard with a limit of 4 foreigners and Colombia isn't exactly full of talent.

I'm making mad profits somehow. €1.2m to be exact this season, average attendance is 4500 and I've not got any major prize money so I don't know where it's coming from!

Lost the BSP play off final. :( Not bad considering we were tipped for relegation.

I forgot to renew my Ass Man, Physio and Fitness manager contracts and now I can't get anyone coz they are all asking for ridiculous wages!

I'm with Liverpool and we have a couple of good prospects on the reserve team, whats the best thing to do?

Loan them out, or extra training? If so any advice on what steps I should take; or should I draft them into the first team, even if they might not get first team action.

Liverpool do indeed have some very good prospects in the reserves. One thing you should do is look at their info screen and see who they are similar to in the first team squad and get that squad member to tutor them. For a start, and I know he's not necessarily in the reserves, but get Agger to tutor Coates.

Similarly, get Gerrard (when he's fit) to tutor Shelvey, Johnson to tutor Flanagan, maybe Bellamy to tutor Sterling and definitely get Enrique to tutor Robinson. If you tutor Robinson and can manage to get him decent game time, (games you're already winning comfortably, cup games etc) during the year he should be a starter the following season. I'm only in April (I think) in my first season and he's already displaced Enrique :)

Doing alright for my season at Limerick achieved 2nd place in 1st Division and won League Cup. Just a few weeks into 2nd season and up in the lofty position of 4th - have to say enjoying it a lot more than I did FM11.

There have been a lot of injuries - but only to my key players but not as much as people have been claiming.

Was just looking at the rules for premier division (ROI) and 1st place says 35k for winning but 2nd gets 87k? Is that because first team are playing in Champs league??

Just finished the season, great success as Borat would say.

I lost in the FA Cup early to Arsenal on penos, lost the League Cup final...... to Arsenal..... on penos.

Went and won the Europa League and finished 2nd in the league behind Arsenal after it went down to the final day.

Flores is an absolute beast but the one thing that's kinda disappointing is that the other guy, he young lad Ortega who Arsenal poache from under my nose, was the only guy to perform better than my lad Flores. Top scorer and POTY, in both instances Flores came 2nd.

    Onwards and upwards though :)

Well it's now Jan 1 2020 and i've been doing well. I'm into the First Knockout stage of the Champions League at the first time of asking and i'm currently top of the league (with the all conquering Arsenal just behind me).

My Super Striker Flores has been doing the business. He's scored 27 goals in 19 league games so far this season, unbelievable.

if you read my previous posts however, the kid Arsenal beat me to the singing of, Ortega (the other Mexican lad) just won World Player of the Year. No big deal :(

Anyway, onward and upward. Gonna deepen my squad and try take this league down!

when you are at a big club and can offer good wages I find it's best to keep raising them slightly when in a transfer battle until the agent says something like 'My client feels the offered terms are acceptable' and they basically guarantee to sign for you no matter what.

Well that happened you see. We agreed on a nice wage for him and he was about to sign, but then Arsenal swooped in and he signed there inseatd. They offered him £115k a week, WAY more than i could offer! (and more than he had agreed with me)

No there's certain dialog options that mean he'll sign for you no matter what. I can't remember the exact ones before you exit talks but as you exit the talk he says 'I will finalise the deal with your club's administration staff' It doesn't matter if you offer 50k and he says that and then Arsenal come in with 100k he'll still sign for you. It sometimes works when you immediately offer them what they ask for at the start but sometimes you have to go a bit higher. Doesn't work if you try to whittle them down in any way though...

for the record though, Arsenal stole this lad who I'd been tracking for years in my other game, he just never wanted to agree terms with me at all due to my clubs standing(well it was Northampton :D), despite the fact I'd made it to the CL and was actually above Arsenal in the January he moved. So they are bastards :D
