    He may have been told that the pelaton was chasing him, not the break, that the break would not be allowed get away with him in it.

    It's a shame they let the break go ahead, it would have been fun to watch more of the breakaway battle for longer especially with the sprint coming up.

    He was of the ones putting in a lot of work when they started to get away first...that may have cost him in the end though because some of them like Thor only came up to it then and had more to give so essentially he got spit out!

    Perhaps the breakaway riders didn;t want him in the break, similar to Cadel 2 years ago when no-one wanted to work with him even though he was miles away from GC.
