By being a spa! Sprayed my centre caps white, and then started masking off the Mitsu logo to paint them black. ****ed it up compeltely, and then got pissed off and abandoned it. Dunno where it is!

Brought my 93 corolla in for a retest.

(Update)...and passed it :) At least 13 months of motoring left in it, though hopefully many more.

Bit of a tip for everyone...

I washed the car today, dried it and then waxed it. By the time I got to do the windows, the water had all dried up and left marks on them.

More water didn't help, glass cleaner didn't help but what did the job was AutoGlym Glass polish and a Meguiar's even coat applicator pad.

Just in case anyone else had this nuisance!

Prepped the 8er for NCT. Pass !!

The chaps in the Naas centre are a nice bunch. The guy doing mine (same guy that did it 2 years ago) came out afterwards to talk to me about her.

    Prep: -
    - fluids
    - brake pedal switch (gave up as its buried behind the centre console - but it hasn't thrown a circuit failure error for ages now so think it was lack of use)
    - fix screen washers
    - wash and dry

Also flushed the Pentosin fluid (steering) and replaced filters and gaskets. That has made a huge difference to the quietness of the steering pump. Some knob before me had replaced the filter without some of the gaskets.

Gave the engine bay a spruce up too.

Another tip is to use a Detailer spray. Careful to match a spray wax with wax & a spray sealant with a sealant.

Autoglym Aqua Wax or Rapid Detailer will go well on a wax. Really fast too'

When it comes to applying a quick detailer or spray wax to windows, I prefer to use Lucas quick mist.

Using a spray wax on the side or back windows can often result in smearing even if you wipe it very well which can often make it worse.

    quite proud :D

    Started cleaning the car today.
All the parts that are touched regularly got a good scrub and "re-blackening", windows are sparkling and I started hoovering but the rain kicked in. Not to much hoovering to go though so I'll be starting on the outside next nice day off I get!

Robbie - does that AG stuff say to use a normal hoover?

It can be very bad for normal hoovers to suck up anything wet.

He's on about using the hoover afterwards to suck up the dirt, as the foam would have loosened it. It's what you usually do for those sorts of things, but not all :)
