Today I had to drive 40 miles in silence which will continue untill I figure out what is wrong with my radio :(
Gonna try whip the head unit out tomorrow and see if there is a fuse in the back somewhere (I really hope there is).

They're f*cking terrible, cheap chinese DSP's inside, the sound quality is dreadful IMHO, and seeing as they're made in god only knows where, the build quality must be cack too. Even some of the sites selling them are warning of the half baked android versions and not to buy unless you really really want it.

That's odd because every post that I've seen from people (mostly on bmw-driver etc) who have the Dynavin units say the exact opposite.

The sound quality was a vast improvement on the improved Harman Kardon sound quality and they have regular updates (unlike the other similar HU's) that you can pop onto a USB key or from wifi.

Buying from an official reseller is obviously the only way to go to avoid clones but you can say that for absolutely everything...

In saying that, I do like the look of your one as well!

Anything's a step up from the stock head unit, it's only a HK amp and speakers with a standard BMW Business head unit. But the Dynavin's no pearl either, my other job (As you can see in my sig) is working with audio and there's no comparisson between something from an established manufacturer with solid DSPs and something which is made by a manufacturer for one specific car and nothing else, and made from a relatively unknown company.

The thing about the Pioneer for me when I was originally looking for a good head unit 2 years ago was that on testing it in the shop against other head units, I could actually hear details in songs in the mid-higher registers that were scooped out on other units. They have some impressive algorithms on board for reproducing Mp3s.

    Another one most likely.

    Color??
    No idea yet.
It is currently a toss up between
    white > again
Rally Green with Black wheels and a few other black parts < I would be concerned about resale potential with this.
    Yellow > Banana man :)

    Engine.? will be diesel again.

I like the car. Plenty poke when needed. (though after getting used to it the urge for more creeps in )
Main issues I have with it are.

    Road noise

and the windscreen fogs up like crazy in the winter.
