That was very thoughtful of you, buying a prize bond for your mother and father as a gift for their wedding day.

He/she didn’t say they bought it said it was a gift for their wedding. £5 in 1957 was probably a good weeks wages, so it was a decent gift.

I should have put in one of those winky thingies. Sure was a decent gift.

Wow can't believe my luck today, finally after 17 weeks I've got my third win this year and as usual it's a €50
Have to say I'm a bit surprised at the lack of winners but having said that I have over the last few years been investing more and more of the money elsewhere so my PB fund is not as healthy as it once was

I have a £5 bond issued in 1957 which is a treasured possession. It was a gift to my mother and father at the time of their wedding. It’s a quaint but imposing document, with the name and address of the holders typed (probably on a Remington cloth ribbon typewriter). Issued by the Bank of Ireland, who were bankers to the Government of Ireland at the time. Now if only the bloody thing would win, sixty years later !

Lovely story, pass it down as a family heirloom.
Nothing for me today. 5 weeks ago last win, €50euro.

I'd love to see the general run of bonds which are winning for you - could you screenshot your 'Find Winners' list and show us - just to see the age of the various bonds?

€50 last Friday - thats 3 X €50 on that batch in 2019. But there are larger batches which seem to have disappeared!

A quick look suggests that it is pretty random tbh.

I have it in mind to do an analysis at some point, and I'll try to post it when I do. Will have to wait for the winter months though !

Anyone else still waiting for last Friday's prize cheque? When there were more prizes, the cheque used to come on a Tuesday. Then the amounts /frequency dropped and cheques didn't arrive til Wednesday. Thursday's post has come and gone and still no cheque for last week's win.

I reinvest mine in new bonds. Got the letter on Tuesday to say I’d won and my winnings would be reinvested. Got new bonds yesterday. Very efficient.,

Ours arrived on Tuesday as normal,
We get so little post now that when I saw the letter on Tuesday, I had completely forgotten that we had won on Friday and I was thinking who's sending me a bill now and got a pleasant surprise again when I realised it was from the Prize Bonds

My winnings are reinvested. The letter notifying me of last Friday’s win arrived on Tuesday and the cert arrived on Wednesday. This is pretty normal in my experience.

Have over 18k in prizebonds but they are all small amounts ranging from €1500 to €25.

Got one winner. Would I be better off cashing in and getting 1 bit bond of does it make any odds.

Nothing for me in the last two draws, but I had a very good first six months. Someone in Limerick bought bonds a week ago, and got two wins straight away.

Prize Value Winning Prize Bond Location

    €50 AOO838134 Limerick
    €50 AOO838141 Limerick

Number of prizes has gone up again in July, increased every month this year so far.
