rosberg out on track anyway which is good, using the super soft

Would've preferred to see him start last and see if he could win with a 1-stopper on lap 2 :pac:

The change-of-direction of Schumacher just after the tunnel was a sight to behold there.

EDIT: What's the story with HRT? Looks like they're not even gonna bother sending Karthekayan out. Beginning of the end for the team? Or middle of the end?

EDIT 2: Feck, they're both just in the race by a couple of tenths.

still waiting to break the 1:14:00... who will it be ?

    My money is on Hamilton.

I don't think HRT should be aloud race, if their not going to bother sending at least one car out in qualifying. Practice times shouldn't count for anything.

Its a pity prodrive didn't get the last slot on the grid HRT are a joke.

Looks Rosberg will start behind Bulls and Larens anyway. What an effort from team and him

HRT were within 107% of Q1 time in practice, so I'd say they'll be okay to race

I was under the (perhaps mistaken) impression that being within the 107% time at any point in the weekend gets you in automatically. The decision for the stewards only comes if a time isn't set. So I thought til now anyway.

I expect him 6th or 7th depending on Massa.

If that's the case why bother with qualifying at all.

He might not be the fastest around to track but watching Schumacher around here is just awesome. It's like he stole the car. :pac:

Button ahead of Webber on the first run so far. :)

    Perez very still in car

  • Registered Users Posts: 864 ✭✭✭Kxiii

That was a fairly nasty shut for Perez. Same spot as Rosberg came off earlier

    Awkward angle to hit

Looks like the barrier pushed down on the helmet.?

Nasty accident there. Was saying to my dad after Rosberg's crash this morning that they could do with extending the barrier there to prevent head-on collisions.

Just saw a lot of head movement there, what's HANS like for side impact?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,903 ✭✭✭cadaliac

Could Charlie Whiting stop the qualifying now at this point? That would be really unfair.
Hope Perez is ok. Doesn't look good tho.

The way his hands moved up to his helmet before impact is really quite chilling for some reason.
    Hope he's OK

  • Registered Users Posts: 30,033 ✭✭✭✭Ghost Train

Hamilton will only have time for one lap

Still looking pretty serious, impact looked to be cushioned pretty well with the barrier so hope he'll be fine, strange line out of the tunnel though

Pretty sure they could cancel the rest of running if they wish.

TBH I assume he's conscious with how long they're taking to remove him. If he's unconscious I'd wonder about them taking so long to get him from the car.

With the pace of activity I'd be amazed if he's not fine and talking.

not much rush with the ambulance

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,316 ✭✭✭✭amacachi

Yup, awake and talking. Hopefully they can get the barrier fixed quick-sharp now.

Spouting about how "we" made F1 safer. FFS!

That camera angle from above the barrier is brilliant.
