how about this Battle Garegga game then?

You say this as if you've never played Battle Garegga....!

That's up there among mortal sins such as having never played Radiant Silvergun, Ikaruga, calling Souky Terra Driver and being a hipster.

Gave this a few goes last night, best score was only around 7.5 million. Did some reading on it afterwards on how best to get those 5 cubes and all that auto-lock malarkey. This could become quite addictive. :)

Looks and sounds gorgeous that game. I was constantly using the lock on and was wondering where the feck all these 5 cubes are you mentioned, was getting nothing but 1s and 2s. Then read afterwards that's not how to play it. :o

@Mr. Fly (of the 'On Da' variety): Your PC Engine videos are great. The best one of course was Darius.

I weeped tears of joy watching someone else enjoy playing Darius. :)

Made the Top 25 leaderboard for Fast Striker in Omake mode! Actually could have done better, but the shoddy iOS controls cost me lives on the stage 1 boss and caused a stupid mistake on Stage 2.

Anywho, here's my score if anyone is keen, plus proof:

    99,457,780

Playing a bit of the Training level in Raiden DX lately using the player two ship (blue), apparently it's slightly faster horizontally than the red ship (which is slightly faster vertically). I can fairly easily get the first two secret pyramid bonuses and get the odd flashing medal, but just getting further into the level is the main struggle. Haven't touched the main game modes.

High score so far is 1,464,490 (normal difficulty).

Not sure if the speed differences between the ships exist in the original Raiden but gave that a bash on the cab, fitted my second LS-56-01 to the P2 side. Sticking with the spread weapon and normal missiles now and trounced my previous best score. :pac:

That's the magic of the LS-56-01 for you! Nice scores sir. :)

Speaking as one of the forum mods I'm getting more than a little concerned at Andrews addiction to scanline/pixel porn.
I have let it slide long enough, hoping sense would reign, but instead we get increasingly fevered posts of rather risque close-ups of CRT's.
Please, remember there are those who read these pages in work and with children present in the room.

I agree with Adultappleflavouredbeveragemale. Luckily I saw these snaps this morning so I could have a cold shower straight after.

You're spoiling us with these CRT snaps. Feels like I'm at an ambassador's reception!

Cheers. I've had a 56 on the P1 side for ages now and wasn't making much progress so I'm thinking it's from playing that Training level so much in DX - it's punishing (but awesome). Going back to Raiden I was suddenly able to dodge bullets I couldn't before. Switching from blue laser and homing missles to spread and normal missile defo helps too. Might be to do with the Blue ship also, or a placebo effect it has on me. :pac:

    I thought you had P1 and P2 56's?

Lol sorry, I have two 56's but previously only fitted one to the P1 side (billy no mates) but since watching some superplays where they always use the Blue ship - I decided to fit my other 56 to P2 side so I could play as P2. If that makes sense. :)

Actually playing on P2 was very strange at the start, you seem further off centre than you do on the P1 side, probably just force of habit always playing as P1.

Aha! Makes sense now. I don't think I could use another stick in my cabinet anymore. Maybe a Suzo 500 or a Virt just to see how tight those throws really are. For me, the LS-56 teamed up with Seimitsu buttons caters for my needs just fine. :)

I was setting up a few things in the cab earlier and decided to give 1942 a bash as I've not played it in ages and don't think I'd ever even played it on the cab.

Anyway, I ended up beating the game for the first time ever so thought I'd post the score here.
My score was 1643750 at the end and you get a 10,000,000 bonus for completing the game(as well as some engrish).

They put a cabinet with a multi-game PCB in my uni, and it has Metal Slug 3!

Attempting to learn to 1CC it before the end of semester and/or the the parts break.

Best so far is a 648k run which got me as far as the tanks in the 2nd (zombie) level.

A Metal Slug 3 1cc would be something else! That's going to take a very long time to achieve (unless of course you're some game playing savant.)

One of the things I want to do in the new year is get my Metal Slug 1cc attempt back on track. Must see if I can find the recordings I took from the last time.

EDIT - holy ****e, that was over a year ago now.

17 minute run, not too shabby. Shame the video quality is so bad. I reckon I could do better on a cab. Neo Geo sticks are nice, but they're still not substitute for a seimitsu.
