Mary Elizabeth Winstead has been cast in CBS BrainDead,

its been slated as a cross between The Strain (unfortunately) and The West Wing (bit better, but the premise doesnt leave much hope of political plot lines),

its set for summer 2016, so it really is a 50/50 call if its gonna be any good, i always liked Winstead, but i think she could have picked a better project,

Slated for Summer 2016, the series centers on Laurel (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), a fresh-faced Capitol Hill staffer who discovers two things at her first job in Washington, D.C.: The government has stopped working, and alien spawn have come to Earth and eaten the brains of a growing number of congressmen and Hill staffers.

Danny Pino will play Luke, the Democratic Whip Senator from Maryland and Laurel’s older brother

    Rambo: New Blood

‘Rambo: New Blood’ Father-Son TV Series In Works At Fox With Sylvester Stallone
After lengthy negotiations, Fox has closed a development deal for Rambo: New Blood, a TV series based on the hit franchise, with Sylvester Stallone executive producing. I hear conflicting information whether Stallone has a deal in place to act in the project, about Rambo and his son, though he certainly has the option to do so. Some sources indicate that the actor would reprise his role as the famous renegade soldier, which he has played in all four Rambo movies to date, while others say that he won’t appear in the series.

Be cool if he's in it, they could just put him in every now and then like B Cooper in Limitless....well abit more than that and it'd be cool.

Samurai Jack is back after 10+ years hiatus...

They used to show episodes of this on TG4 in the afternoons (dubbed as Gaeilge) while I was at college and it was a delight to watch with a gang of people (especially if we'd had a few smokes, of the "wacky" variety)...

This news calls for a re-watch before the new episodes arrive. I've got access to 16 regions of Netflix, so surely it'll be on one of them...

    Section 13

Tom Welling To Star In & Produce Action Drama ‘Section 13’ For CBS
Former Smallville star Tom Welling is plotting a return to television with a starring role in Section 13, a drama series project at CBS. The drama, now in development, hails from Smallville producer Warner Bros. TV and studio-based Tom Welling Productions

Written by Bones alumna Carla Kettner, Section 13 centers on a CIA black ops officer-turned-private contractor (Welling) who, after a personal tragedy, joins a covert organization devoted to carrying out the most difficult and dangerous high-stakes assignments. Welling and Kettner executive produce.

In addition to serving as co-executive producer and executive producer on Smallville for the long-running series’ final two seasons, Welling through his production company, which has been under a pod deal at WBTV, has developed and sold multiple projects. One of them, cheerleader drama Hellcats, went to series at the CW with Welling executive producing.

Since his star-making stint as Clark Kent/Superman on Smallville, which ended its 10-season run in 2011, Welling had been focused on features as an actor, co-starring in Parkland and Draft Day. He will next be seen in The Choice.

Kettner spent the last five years on the Fox dramedy Bones, rising to an executive producer. She most recently served as co-executive producer on the CBS summer

I enjoyed the season but not sure if it needs a second. Looks at least like it'll be an anthology series with a new cast.

The Leftovers Renewed for a 3rd and final season.
The Leftovers will return for a third and final season, according to president of HBO programming Michael Lombardo.

Series co-creator Damon Lindelof explained the decision to end the series, saying that each season was designed "with beginnings, middles and ends." The same apparently goes for the show itself, which the creative team decided to give a "definite" end in its third outing.

While I don't mind, I'm not sure I'm as enamoured with Season 2 as I was with Season 1. I do think this should have been a 1 season show really. For season 2 I think they're just delving into the minutia of the post-affair environment as well as examining the fallout. It's still a high quality show however it seems to lack some of the punch that the first season did.

    Designated Survivor

ABC Orders ‘Designated Survivor’ Series Starring Kiefer Sutherland From David Guggenheim, Mark Gordon, Simon Kinberg
EXCLUSIVE: Jack Bauer is heading to the White House. Kiefer Sutherland is returning to primetime television with Designated Survivor, an ABC conspiracy thriller drama, in which the 24 star will play the President of the United States. Designated Survivor, which was written on spec by David Guggenheim (Safe House), has received a straight-to-series order. The script, with Sutherland attached to star and Simon Kinberg (The Martian, X-Men, Days Of Future Past) to executive produce for the Mark Gordon Company, sparked a major bidding war before landing at ABC.

In Designated Survivor, a lower level United States Cabinet member (Sutherland) is suddenly appointed President after a catastrophic attack during the State of the Union kills everyone above him in the Presidential line of succession. This is a family drama wrapped around a conspiracy thriller about an ordinary man in an extraordinary situation.

Creator Guggenheim executive produces alongside Kinberg, who will exec produce via his Genre Films banner, Sutherland and Entertainment 360’s Suzan Bymel.

This marks the first production order for the Mark Gordon Co. since it went independent earlier this year as the Mark Gordon Company Studios, backed by Entertainment One. The MGC will serve as the lead studio, with ABC Studios as a studio partner on the series. EOne will handle international distribution.

The title of the project, Designated Survivor, refers to the term used for a member of the U.S Cabinet who is sequestered in a safe location when the President and the country’s other top leaders are gathered in one place, such as during State of the Union addresses and presidential inaugurations. The policy is designed to preserve continuity of government in the event of a catastrophic occurrence when the President and those in line of succession are killed, leaving the designated survivor to become the Acting President of the United States under the Presidential Succession Act.

In Designated Survivor Executive Orders, a lower level United States Cabinet member (Jack Ryan) is suddenly appointed President after a catastrophic attack during the State of the Union Inauguration kills everyone above him in the Presidential line of succession.

Wonder if any more of the plot will be lifted from Tom Clancy books?
