    Hi.

    My father has a wildfire, Android version 2.2.1

    Previous to this phone hr had an sgs1 running 2.6, he had no problems with viber on the galaxy, but with the wildfire none of us can hear him?

    My question is, is viber configured yo run ok on the wildfire?
    Or, does my father need to upgrade the firmware?

    I'm not familiar with HTC phones, so if he does need to upgrade the firmware, how is it fine with a HTC phone?

    Thanks

    He'll be upset! He's up north, I'm down here!

    Wonder if a custom ROM would help?

    SFR are known to be blocking Viber in France - that might be the reason for the problem you're experiencing, alongside simply having a bad signal. Unfortunately there is not much we can do to help with both these issues :(
    Note that we are continuously working on improving Viber's handling of poor signals (especially on cellular networks), so you can expect an improvement as time goes by.

    Thanks for the prompt response.
    Tried Viber on SFR (via Vodafone PAYG) yesterday - and it worked brilliantly (Sunday - network load is minimal) , so I could suppose either SFR caps 3G data traffic quality in peak times or just it is slow due to high network load/ low coverage issues in particular places.

    Not sure, I guess it depends on what the actual issue is but I'm guessing its hardware related rather than software which means a custom ROM won't help.

    Still not on BB App World Viber?

    Still not on BB App World Viber?

    With the ability of android apps being sideloaded to the playbook it is available on a blackberry system!

    As for Blackberry phones... Down towards the end of this web page Viber have stated (on the 15th of April this year) that "Viber for BB [Beta] will be released to AppWorld some time this week" so I'm assuming that's before the 22nd anyway

    I'm using a galaxy tab 7.7 with honeycomb 3.2, my viber keep deactivating after a few hours it been install. Anyone can enlighten me on this issue

    @CantGetNoSleep -

    There have been slight delays in the release, but you can expect it very (*very*) soon now. We are at the very final stages of testing now before the beta version is released to AppWorld. We'll be here to hear your thoughts and comments once it is released :)

    @Kyoichi -

    Are you using a Custom ROM on your Tablet?

    Please check your IMEI number (universal device identification number) inside the phone's "About" page.

    Some custom ROMs override the original IMEI you had when you received your phone, and this is the cause to the deactivation problem. We currently solve that by collecting all the problematic IMEI's from our users, and manually whitelisting them. If you'd like to make sure yours is also included in the list, you can let me know what IMEI is written in the "About" page, so we make sure it's added to our next releases.

    Viber should support all devices running OS5 and above.

    About the release date - we are doing the best we can so it is ready within the next 2 weeks. We apologize for the delay, and we thank you for your patience.

    Installed today on Xperia S and I am still waiting for the confirmation text. I have tried number including the leading zero and leaving it out. Still no text.
    Any ideas?

    Running stock gingerbread no mods or anything like that.

    Please try removing Viber, wait 24 hours, reinstall and try again (make sure you try both the SMS and the automated call options). If this doesn't help, contact our support team at http://support.viber.com and give them the details of the problem.

    Just out of curiosity, is there any reason to have the shortcut icon as a widget aswell?
    I've noticed this with a few apps (Whatsapp does it too) but I was wondering if theres any design reason for it?

    Viber when this thing eventually comes out for Blackberry will it have phone calls? All the screenshots I have seen so far are messages only

    Probably been asked here 100's of times already but I am in the UK at the min and have the data turned off my Irish phone so just relying on wireless. Not a problem as most of the time as I am in wireless zones.

    Quick question on viber, if someone sends me a viber message and I am not in a wireless zone at the time will that message be lost forever, will I not recieve it even when I do connect to a wireless connection again?

    Youll receive it the next time you connect

    What is Vibers business model?

    What is Vibers business model?

    I'm guessing the same as Skype's , get to X amount of users so you can be sold for X amount of money.

    Good stuff.
    Handy to know instead of thinking did you or didn't you receive a text.
    Thanks for that!

    Hi all,
    I apologize for my delayed response.

    @CantGetNoSleep -
    At this stage, Viber's messenger (text messaging) system is almost ready and working great. However, Viber's VoIP (calling) system is much trickier since there are limitations in Blackberry itself that make implementing VoIP very complex so it will probably be available a little later in the future.

    @WesternZulu -
    As mentioned above, if someone texts you through Viber when you're offline, you'll get the message once you come back online. If someone calls you while you were offline, you'll see a Missed Call notification after connecting again.

    @conor.hogan.2 -
    Currently, Viber's focus is on adding platforms, features and integrating with more platforms, as well as improving overall system performance. At the same time, we are working on additional premium services that will generate revenue once they become available. The basic Viber service - Viber to Viber phone calls and text messages - will ALWAYS be free.

    Wow,
    That's definitely a first :)

    Generally, the ringtone cannot be exported to your phone. However.... what phone do you have? I'll see what I can do ;)

    By the way - we have received some reports from Vodafone Ireland users who are unable to use Viber over the past 24 hours. Can anyone confirm this? Is Viber not working on Vodafone Ireland's 3G network at the moment?

    Haven't been able to use Viber now for about 48 hours and really missing it :confused:Tried removing and reinstalling but discovered then that it seems to work on WiFi. Does that mean my carrier (Vodafone bill pay) is blocking it??
