South Munster U19 Highfield beat Kinsale, didnt get the actual score but Highfield won by about 15 points

22-0 is a surprise but a good thing in the long term. Last team to win the east munster 18/19s league was nenagh in 08/09 and im not sure when was the last time before that but its at least the 04/05 season. If waterpark dont win the 19s league this season its good in the long term for east munster rugby.

draw for the pan munster will be interesting whenever its made.[/QUOTE]

Always good to get a share of teams winning Ormond and to break a streak. Waterpark present 19s team not a shadow of the team of lads they had in that group with the core gone.

Ye must fancy your chances so. I can see where you are coming from, however I don't really see it as being good for east munster, when from the looks of it only 3 teams at 19s in competition.

Not a healthy or happy reflection, considering, at these lads group in the past you used to have Dungarvan, Fethard, Thurles, Cashel, Nenagh, Kilfeacle, Clanwilliam, Waterpark, Clonmel and Carrick, and an occasional Galbally! Think there were at 9 teams at 17s two years ago, nothing to enthus about.

Might suggest pan munster will struggle this year at 19s, pity such an attrition.

I know its always good to see a share of teams winning esp when 1 club has won 6 of the last 7 easy u18/19 league titles with only our win in 09 stopping the run. Hopefully this year the league is won by nenagh/clonmel
Waterpark are a shadow of what they potentially could be but are still strong enough with several kids playing who've played with munster on 1 team or another or are in line to.
Think it is only 3 teams through from each region which is a pity as top 16 has worked well the past few seasons and its a shame there isnt enough teams playing for that to be kept.
Pan Munster may struggle this season and in my view radical changes should be made to the league at 19s level to keep clubs fielding and improving the standard of rugby.
In my view there should be pan munster league from the start with 2/3 divisions of teams with maybe the bottom division split into north and south sections

Leinster regional squads blitz. next series of matches is january 4th

South Munster U 19 Highfield bt Muskerry/Ballincollig 27-0 ( I think that was the final score) It was 0-0 at half time so a good second half from the Field

Nenagh beat 'Park 21-7 today. Quite a good first half but a poor 2nd due to the horrible pitch conditions. The score was perhaps a bit flattering but Nenagh deserved it for their opening 20 minutes where 'Park were completely off the boil. Waterpark dominated the last 15 minutes and it was pity we didn't score before the last play of half time because we were building some momentum. I would be interesting to see in better conditions as I think 'Park were slightly fitter but didn't get to take advantage of it in the 2nd half as it was so slow and plodding.

Nenagh played a smart game, came out strong, scored two tries and then just pinged the corners. Some very good ball carriers in the pack and a dependable 10.

Missed the start but it was a good game ruined by the pitch conditions.
Nenagh played well and the handful of ballina/scarriff players who have joined us on loan have really strengthened the team.
Not so sure about 'park taking advantage of things if the pitch was better and IMO if the game had been played on our main pitch we would have won by more
Nenagh top of the league ahead of playoffs and 1st seeds for Pan Munster and Waterpark more than likely will be 3rd seeds with Clonmel 2nd seeds
Ye would be a much different team with all ye're lads back from bohs etc esp Jacko. Only thing about Moore, JOD playing elsewhere is the very good Peter Traynor gets to start in the backrow

He started 2 years ago as well. Do the semi finals and finals not determine the seedings? Johnny Hayes has worked on his fitness a good bit, still carrying ball well in the 2nd half.

Fairly sure its the group stage that decides the seedings.
Yeah you're right. it was the year before that he wasnt starting.
Yeah Jonny has worked a lot on fitness. Doing a lot of work to improve fitness. He was helped by his younger brother Gavin and

Yeah he had some serious carries today. Ye've a number of unspectacular but hard running forwards. A fairly effective unit. We're just lacking a few ball carriers

Missing our main main forward today as well.
Ye're a good side and ye'll do fine in Pan Munster. Nenagh, Waterpark, Garryowen, Abbeyfeale, Highfield and Sundays Well look to be the strongest at 19s in Munster this season
Pan Munster draw will be interesting as i think itll be different format this year considering the lack of teams in some regions

South Munster u19 Highfield 6 Cork Con 19. Very good game, Highfield missing a few but Con the better team. I was very impressed with the Con 10 who controlled the game and gave a great all round display

The Clonmel no. 10's boot practically got his team to the final himself. Very even match but the corners were pinged brilliantly and was the winning of the game.

'park missing so many players who're now starting AIL and u21 AIL so very different team to what they could put out.
Did 'park 17s play Galbally in league semi today?

Yeah they won but apparently Galbally were much better than expected. The East must be very strong this year at that level, 'Parks 17's really are a cracking side so it would take a good one to put it up to them.

Clanwilliam are a good side at 17s and the final should be a cracker.
East are good at 17s. The East 17s development squad were strong as were the North this season so IMO itll prob be East and North club sides dominating the pan munster.

Do you know what the score was in the 17s game?

No, just that it wasn't a blowout. They must have strong under 16's

The Irish U18 Youths had their first training camp over the weekend as I understand it. Only 3 Connacht Players in the squad. Thought that we would have more.
