    Checked five before finally finding an Ulsterbank with money in it.

    Downsizing the banks already ?

    yeah it was actually in maynooth and celbridge that I had the problem. pain in the ass.

    Probably people taking out more than usual.

    They might put 20k normally and it is suffice but make the 20k is gone by 5pm these days and they haven't upped it.

    This is going to become more common. Banks will be concentrating on some ATM's, leaving others unstocked with cash, and unserviced. Part cost-cutting, part they don't have the physical cash to keep them all stocked all the time.

    just read that some banks are only allowing 1k max withdrawls at a time but you have to give advance notice?

    Banks are closed now so can't ring em obviously. Planning on buying a car for cash and that wouldn't help.

    With all the hype going around about a bank run or the possibility of Ireland going back to the Punt or Germany to the deutschmark where do ye think the safest place for savings would be?

    I'm thinking a Canadian Bank or would Sterling be good?
