Cant find an official Vatican link for Press Conf.

Not a public announcement yet, but has been told to media outlets so they can arrange etc.
Vatican has booked 3 media time slots globally for Tuesday. Morning, Noon, Night.

haha it's amazing how seemingly rational people can start to go "hmmm" when they start to read the crackpot stuff on the internet.

I've been reading a lot about webbot predictions and Timewave Zero predictions which both predict something big for today/tomorrow.
All these conspiracy theory people are saying it's interesting that Obama is out of the country escorted by 34 warships and aircraft carriers, his family are all with him, almost all senior white house members are out of the country and the biggest businessmen/women in the US are out of country.
Then you start getting all these supposed missile sightings all over the US.,

hahah... almost enough to make you believe it. For the really crazy shít, see my post that I quoted in Conspiracy Theory forum.

The interesting thing about the earthquakes is that one prediction for what the announcement may be about is Betelgeuse beginning to go supernova.
It is certainly in our "cosmic neighbourhood" and it would be a huge, potentially life-changing event. It is something that Chandra could see (as it is x-ray telescope).

If it started going supernova, it would cause many small earthquakes on Earth.

I don't think it could be described as a "discovery of an exceptional object" though.

I'm not one for conspiracy theories, but I hope it's in response to whatever NASA is announcing on Monday :)

I can't find anything about there - my google is gurgling when I ask it. :D

    Link please.

Oh, is that the big plane-looking white thing in front of our Sun? It's interesting, but I doubt that's it because this has been discovered by The Chandra X-ray Observatory, not Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO)

any idea what it would be?

according to Cliff we are due an EMP or sumpin..

''Perhaps today, November 14, 2010 at 9:50am EST (Date and Time Cliff said something BIG would happen), the US, Europe or both will be hit with massive EMP attacks OR a natural solar flare CME that will act as an EMP attack and wipe a lot clean.''
    :P

    It's not related to that.

There was a pretty big flare on (I think) Friday. It's not much bigger than the storm we had a few months ago. Shouldn't cause too much trouble when it arrives, but higher latitudes will get a nice light show this evening and possibly tomorrow evening.

I saw it on ATS and another website. Apparently it's a media announcement only at this point (the media outlets are invited to announcements before-hand so that they can arrange to have someone there). The NASA announcement is here and also quite intriguing:
    MEDIA ADVISORY : M10-157

Media representatives may attend the conference, join by phone or ask questions from participating NASA locations. To RSVP or obtain dial-in information, journalists must send their name, affiliation and telephone number to Trent Perrotto at: trent.j.perrotto@nasa.gov by 10 a.m. EST on Nov. 15. Reporters wishing to attend the conference in-person must have a valid press credential for access. Non-U.S. media also must bring passports.

To put this in perspective, when they crashed that satellite into the moon and found water they held a relatively small press conference that was shown on NASA-TV and invited no international media.

I, personally believe it will be something astonishing in astrophysical terms, but not something that the average Joe on the streets is going to have much interest in.

My guess is it is related to this:

    Here's why - the panel.
Dr. Kimberly Ann Weaver: Astrophysicist, X-ray Astrophysics Branch, Astrophysics Science Division, NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. Research Specialisation: Active galactic nuclei (AGN) and supermassive black holes
Dr. Alexei V. Filippenko: Professor of Astronomy at the University of California, Berkeley. Specialty areas: Supernovae, active galaxies, black holes, gamma-ray bursts, and the expansion of the Universe.
Dr. Jon Morse: Astrophysics Division Director, NASA. Dr. Morse is known for his research on diverse topics in both galactic and extragalactic astronomy, using observations made at visible, ultraviolet, X-ray, and infrared wavelengths from space-based and ground-based facilities. The Division also funds peer-reviewed research to study the origin and evolution of planets, stars and galaxies, including such phenomena as supernovae, neutron stars and black holes.

Seems that black holes seem to pop up a lot.

The pope would have a history of making things disappear. Especially in the 40's in Berlin

On the playground was where I spent most of my days
Chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool
And all shootin some b-ball outside of school
    When an exceptional object
    Was up to no good
Startin making trouble in my cosmic neighborhood...
